1 PM announces new scheme to train women to operate drones through 15,000 self-help groups

Prime Minister  Narendra Modi unfurled the tricolor  from the ramparts of  the Red Fort  in Delhi  and addressed the nation . In his address, he said that continuous reforms are being done to modernize the army. The Prime Minister said that our target   is to make two crore Lakhpati Didi in the village . He said that for this we are working on a new plan. For this  women self-help groups  will be trained and  drones  will be given. He said that drones will be used in agriculture. The Prime Minister informed that  15,000 women  are launching the service of drones with self-help groups.

Government to launch Vishwakarma scheme next month for those having traditional skills

From the ramparts of the Red Fort, the Prime Minister said that a subsidy of ten lakh crore rupees is being given to make urea available to the poor. Shri Modi said that MSME eco has not been allowed to sink in spite of Kovid. He said that lakhs of jawans were benefited from One Rank One Pension. Shri Modi said that 13.5 crore people should come above the poverty line in the tenure of five years. He said that   on  Vishwakarma Jayanti, Vishwakarma Yojana  would be started  for the class making  traditional tools . This scheme   will start with about 14-15 thousand crore rupees .

Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to organize Youth-20 Summit in Varanasi from August 17 to 20

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports  is organizing the Youth-20 Summit 2023  in  Varanasi , Uttar Pradesh  from   17th  to 20th  of this month  . More than 100 delegates are expected to attend it. Around 150 delegates from G-20 countries, guest countries and international organizations will discuss the 5 identified themes of the Youth-20. These topics include The Future of Work, Industry 4-Zero, Innovation and 21st Century Skills, Peacebuilding and Reconciliation: Ushering in an Era Without War, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction. Kick-off meeting of Youth-20 Summit, Guwahati, 14 Youth-20 consultations held in premier educational institutions,  LehLadakh It marks the culmination of various public participation programs organized across the country in connection with the Pre-Summit, brainstorming sessions, Youth-20 Choupal and the main Youth-20 Summit.

Nine municipalities in Russia’s Far East declare state of emergency due to 4 storm laws

In the Russian  Far East, nine municipalities   declared a state of emergency after Typhoon Khanun , which lashed Japan earlier this week, caused torrential rains to flood villages. On Friday (11 August 2023), Khanun, a typhoon that devastated southern Japan, intensified into a tropical depression moving from South Korea to North Korea. 543 residential properties, 32 villages and large sections of roads have been cut off in Russia’s Far East, an area in the easternmost part of both Russia and the Asian continent.

6 Dharmendra Pradhan launches DBT in NAPS to strengthen apprenticeship ecosystem

 In order to  increase the participation of industry and youth  in  apprenticeship training across the country  , Union Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan  on Saturday announced  Direct Benefit Transfer in the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme  (NAPS).  (Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)) scheme launched. The government has allocated around Rs 15 crore for this scheme. More than one lakh youth doing apprenticeship training will get the benefit of this. This will help usher in a new era in skill development. The National Apprentice Promotion Scheme was launched in 2016. Since 2016, till July 31, 2023, 25 lakh youth have taken training. 2.6 lakh youth have taken training in the financial year 2023-24. Its objective is to provide quality training to the youth.

Heron Mark2 Drone inducted in Indian Air Force

The Indian Air Force  is now planning to take forward its Project Cheetah  under Make in India  . Under this, Indian defense manufacturer  Israeli  Heron Drone Will be equipped with strike capabilities. The newly inducted Heron Mark 2 drones of the Indian Air Force are operating from a forward air base in the northern sector. The long-range drones have the capability to cover entire borders with both Pakistan and China in a single flight. The squadron operating the Heron Mark 2 drone is known as the ‘Wardens of the North’ and is carrying out surveillance missions along the borders with both China and Pakistan. The drones are equipped with satellite communication links and are the most advanced drones in the Indian Armed Forces. Four new Heron Mark-2 drones equipped with long-range missiles and other weapon systems. It is deployed at a forward air base in the northern sector.

8 RBI selects McKinsey, Accenture Solutions to improve regulatory oversight using AI

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI)  has selected global consulting firms McKinsey & Company India LLP  and  Accenture Solutions Pvt Ltd India  to design a system using  artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML)  for its inspection functions. RBI is looking to extensively use advanced analytics, AI and ML to analyze its huge database and improve regulatory oversight on banks and non-banking financial companies (NBFCs). For this, the central bank is planning to hire external experts.

9 Poet diplomat Abhay K. released his new book ‘Monsoon’

Indian Poet-Ambassador  Abhay Kumar (Abhay K) , Deputy Director General of Indian Council for Cultural Relations  released his new book titled “ Monsoon: A Poem of Love and Longing ” at Kathika Sanskriti Kendra in Old Delhi , Delhi. This book was published by Sahitya Akademi on the occasion of its 68th birth anniversary (13 March 2022). His book is a poem that follows the monsoon that emerges from Madagascar and travels across the Himalayas to Srinagar and Madagascar.

10 government employees associations take out rally for pension rights in Delhi

 In order to  demand the restoration of the old pension scheme, the Government Employees Associations  have organized a huge rally in Delhi, which has been named as “ Pension Adhikar Maharally ”.  The rally was organized by Joint Forum for Restoration of Old Pension Scheme (JFROPS) / National Joint Council of Action (NJCA) representing employees of central and state departments. The event took place on 10 August at Ramlila Maidan. A wide variety of employees including Central and State Departments, Railways, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), teaching professionals, defense personnel and ex-paramilitary personnel from across the country participated in the rally. This important poll highlighted the widespread concern regarding the issue of pension planning.

11 NPCI launches UPI Chalega 3.0 campaign to drive UPI adoption and security awareness

National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has introduced the third edition  of   its  UPI security awareness campaign  “ UPI Chalega ”. Collaborating with key stakeholders in the payments ecosystem, the campaign aims to emphasize on the ease, security and speed of using the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) for transactions. The “UPI Chalega” campaign is designed to promote UPI as a reliable, efficient and real-time payment method for various types of transactions. UPI LITEUPI AUTOPAY designed for fast low value transactions , also highlights innovative features such as the convenience of secure recurring payments across UPI applications and UPI interoperability, which ensures seamless money transfers between all UPI-enabled apps.

12 countries celebrated 77th Independence Day

The nation   celebrated  its  77th Independence Day on 15th August 2023 . The British had ruled India for almost 200 years, many freedom fighters had played an important role in liberating the country from their slavery. 15 August 1947  was the day when India was completely freed from the slavery of the British. After this, every year on August 15, the country celebrates Independence Day. Like last year (2022), this year also tricolor campaign is being run in every house.

14 Sulabh International founder and social worker Bindeshwar Pathak passed away. Prime Minister expressed grief over his demise

Bindeshwar Pathak,  founder of  Sulabh International  , has passed away due to cardiac arrest. He was admitted in AIIMS, Delhi. Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak was 80 years old. He  founded the Sulabh International Social Service   in 1970 and campaigned extensively to end manual scavenging  . He   was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1991 .
