Together, two Metro projects in Noida (Noida Greater Noida’s Aqua Line and Sector-32 to 62 Electronics) will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in October. On Tuesday, an aqua line inspection was given to the officials on Noida Authority Chairman Alok Tandon Sector-71 Metro Station on Tuesday.

2.Cyclone Warning Center in Thiruvananthapuram will be established within a month :-

In view of tropical cyclones and severe weather events occurring in recent times on the seaside of Kerala and Karnataka, Central Science Ministry has proposed to set up a Cyclone Warning Center in Thiruvananthapuram. The ministry is planning to set up this center within the next one month. At present, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has only cyclone warning centers in Chennai , Visakhpatnam , Bhubaneswar , Kolkata , Ahmedabad and Mumbai.

 

3.President to inaugurate International Buddhist Conference 2018 on August 23 :-

President Shri Ramnath Kovind will inaugurate the International Buddhist Conference , 2018, in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on August 23 , 2018 . Minister of State for Tourism (Independent Charge) Mr. K. J. Alfonz will chair the inaugural ceremony. The conference was organized by the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the governments of Maharashtra , Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The conference will run till August 26. During the inaugural session of the conference, the Ministry will launch its website landofbuddha.inand on this occasion a new movie will be shown about Buddhist sites in the country. From 24th to 26th August, 2018 delegates will be taken to Aurangabad, Rajgir, Nalanda, Bodh Gaya and Sarnath.

 

4.Waive fee in three toll plazas of Kerala :-

In view of the unprecedented flood situation in Kerala, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has waived the fee in three toll plazas of the state. These are three toll plazas – Pliakra located in Thrissur district Plaza , Kumblm of Plkm district Pmpmpllm Plaza and Kochi district Plaza. It has been effective last week and will continue till this weekend (August 26 , 2018).

With heavy rainfall / reservoirs leaving the NH-544 (near Aluva), many state highways are in the grip of floods.

 

5.In the Asian Games, Saurabh Chaudhary won the first gold medal for India in a 10 meter Air Pistol event in shooting :-
