President  Draupadi Murmu  will inaugurate  the National Festival of India’s  Folk and Tribal Expressions  ” Utkarsh ” and the International Literature Festival ” Unmesh ” in Bhopal  . The Culture Department,  along with  the Sangeet Natak Akademi and Sahitya Akademi of  the  Ministry of Culture  , is organizing this program in Madhya Pradesh from August 3 to 5. Governor Mangubhai Patel  and  Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan  will also be present at the inauguration ceremony  .

2 E-care portal will be launched to simplify the process of bringing back the mortal remains of Indians from abroad

 The government will launch an e-care portal  to ease the process of  bringing back the mortal  remains  of Indians who lost their lives abroad. Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has said that this portal is being introduced to avoid delay in bringing back the mortal remains of Indians abroad. He informed that through this portal the Central International Health Division, nodal officers, consignees and airlines will get information through email, SMS and WhatsApp. The designated nodal officer will scrutinize it and give approval within 48 hours. The status of the application can be viewed on the e-care portal through the registered number.

3 Topping the list of missing women in India: Maharashtra

Among all the states,  Maharashtra tops the list with  the highest number  of missing women in the nation  with a reported number of 56,498 in 2021. The Union Home Ministry  informed the Parliament last week that  more than 13 lakh 13 thousand girls and women  have gone missing in the country between 2019 and 2021 i.e. within three years. The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) has kept the figures in the Parliament by the Central Government.  are of. In 2021, a total of 375,058 women (above 18 years) were reported missing in India, according to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data mentioned in a Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) press release. Additionally, 90,113 girls (under the age of 18) were also reported missing in India during the same year. Madhya Pradesh  was  second in terms of number of missing women with 55,704 cases.  50,998 women were reported missing in  West Bengal , while Odisha In the same year, 29,582 cases were registered. Compared to last year, 320,393 women and 71,204 girls went missing from across the country in 2020. Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra were the two states that saw the highest number of missing girls and women from 2019 to 2021. In the three-year period from 2019 to 2021, a total of 10,61,648 women and 2,51,430 girls went missing in India.

4 75@75 Meeting of the Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change on ‘Ramsar Sites’

 The meeting of the Consultative Committee of Members of Parliament attached to  the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change  concluded in New Delhi . The meeting was presided over   by the Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Shri Bhupendra Yadav . During the meeting,  India’s significant achievement in the 75th year of independence  by declaring  75 wetlands  in  the Ramsar Convention ‘s list of wetlands of international importance  was highlighted. The network of Indian Ramsar sites  covers   about  1.33 million hectares , which is more than 8% of the known wetland area of ​​the country .   It is the second largest in Asia and fifth in the world in terms of total number of designated Ramsar sites. The committee members appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change to designate 75 wetlands as Ramsar sites.

5 Maasi portal launched for monitoring of  child care homes

National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has developed an application ‘ MASI – Monitoring App for Seamless Inspection ‘  for real-time monitoring of Child Care Institutions (CCIs) and their inspection mechanism  across the country  . The purpose of developing this app is to make the mechanism of inspection of CCI as provided under the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 (as amended in 2021) effective and efficient. The app is linked to the monitoring portal where automated reports are generated. MASI enables integrated monitoring by members of Child Welfare Committees (CWCs), State Inspection Committees, District Inspection Committees, Juvenile Justice Boards (JJBs) and State Commissions for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCRs) prescribed under the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 .

6 Goods and Services Tax on Casinos and Online Gaming raised to 28%

Finance Minister  Nirmala Sitharaman  has said that  28 percent GST  will be levied   on face value of  casino and online gaming .  In New Delhi after the 51st meeting of the GST Council, Smt. Sitharaman said that 28 percent GST on online gaming and casinos could be implemented from October 1. He said that after six months of implementation of GST, the council will review it. The GST Council, in its last meeting, had banned  casino, horse racing and online games. recommended levy of GST at 28 per cent on the full face value of the claim made. The council had also recommended amendments to the law for clarity in this regard. Certain amendments were recommended in the CGST Act-2017 and IGST-Act-2017 to bring clarity in taxation of casino, horse racing and online gaming.

7 Telangana Police traced 2 thousand 617 missing children including 263 girls under Operation Muskaan-9 in the state

Telangana  Police  has traced two thousand six hundred and 17 missing children, including two hundred and sixty-three girls,  during  Operation Muskaan-9  conducted across the state in  the month of July  . Out of them two thousand two hundred and thirty children including two hundred and twelve girls were handed over to their parents and guardians while three hundred and eighty seven children are kept in shelters. Additional Director General of Police Shikha Goyal said that during Operation Muskaan, more than two thousand three hundred children were matched with the missing children. More than 400 FIRs were registered under various sections of laws, while 436 accused were identified and arrested on the same day. Officials have said that as part of the operation, 800 missing children, including 69 girls from other states or countries, were traced.

8 Kerala to set up India’s first fisheries Atal Incubation Center

 After receiving a grant of ₹10 crore  from  NITI Aayog ,  the Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS)   will set up India’s first Atal Incubation Center (AIC)  in  fisheries . NITI Aayog, as the premier policy think tank of the Government of India, provided a grant to KUFOS to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the fisheries sector. The AIC initiative is part of the Atal Innovation Mission, which aims to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship across various industries in the country.

9 Bharat Dynamics Limited hands over next generation weapon system first Radio Frequency Seeker of Akash to Defense Research and Development Organization

Bharat Dynamics Limited-BDL has  handed over  the next generation weapon system – the first  Radio Frequency Seeker to the Defense Research and Development Organisation, built at  its newly commissioned  world-class seeker facility . The seeker terminal stage is a critical and technology-intensive subsystem used in air-to-air and surface-to-air missiles to engage targets. Outline of Radio Frequency Seeker DRDO  Developed by Imarat ‘s Research Center  . It was manufactured   by  BDL  at its  Kanchanbagh unit in Hyderabad .  at its world class Sikar facility. In a special function organized at the Kanchanbagh unit of BDL, the Chairman and Managing Director of BDL, Commodore A. Madhavrao handed over the first radio frequency seeker manufactured by BDL to Dr Sameer V Kamat, Secretary and Chairman, Defense Research and Development Organisation.

10 Allahabad High Court Dismisses Anjuman Masjid Committee’s Plea Challenging ASI Survey of Gyanvapi Mosque Complex in Varanasi

The Allahabad High Court  has   dismissed the petition of the Anjuman Masjid Committee  challenging  the Archaeological Survey of India-ASI survey  of  the Gyanvapi mosque complex  in  Varanasi . The court rejected the argument of the Muslim side that the survey could damage the mosque. After this the way has been cleared for scientific survey of the campus. Varanasi District Judge A.K. Vishwesh, in his order dated July 21, had directed to conduct an ASI survey of the Gyanvapi campus. Four Hindu women had filed a petition on 16 May 2023 for the survey. The objective of the survey was to ascertain whether the present mosque was built on the former structure of a Hindu temple. The Anjuman Masjid Committee challenged the Varanasi district court’s decision in the Allahabad High Court.

11 G20 Ministerial Conference of Women and Child Development Ministry on Women Empowerment inaugurated in Gandhinagar

The G20 Ministerial Conference on Women Empowerment  was   inaugurated in  Gandhinagar  ,  Gujarat .  Women and gender equality ministers from G20 and guest countries are participating in this conference to be held from 2 to 4 August 2023 . The conference was attended by 15 G20 countries, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, European Union, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States and 5 guest countries, Bangladesh, Mauritius, Netherlands There will be participation of over 138 international delegates from , Singapore and UAE. The conference will feature over 60 speakers.

12 G-20 Empower Summit inaugurated in Gandhinagar, Gujarat

The G-20 Empower Summit was  inaugurated   in Gandhinagar, Gujarat . Earlier   kick-off meeting at  Agra, Uttar Pradesh on 11th and 12th February 2023 and Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala on 05th and 06th April 2023 The second meeting was held in Under India’s G-20 presidency, women-led development has emerged as an important focus area based on a life-chain approach, which reflects change that happens through women’s empowerment. More than 300 participants (263 domestic participants and 70 international delegates) took part in this summit. International delegates included representatives from 13 G-20 countries, 04 guest countries and 08 international organizations. These include Argentina, Australia, Brazil, France, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Korea, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, UK, USA, Bangladesh, Netherlands, Spain, United Arab Emirates, WTO, ISA, UN Women, UN, Representatives of UNICEF, ILO, World Bank and ADB are included.

13 ‘CM Command Center’ launched in Uttar Pradesh to evaluate governance

Chief Minister  Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the  ‘ Chief Minister Command Centre ‘ and ‘ CM Dashboard ‘ at Lal Bahadur Shastri Bhawan (Annex)  in  Lucknow  on July 30  , with an aim to ensure the benefits of government schemes and services reach the needy and deserving. CM Command Center and CM Dashboard are effective steps taken by the Government of UP to provide timely solutions to the problems of general public and ensure better implementation of government schemes.

14 Drone flying work completed in 2,70,924 villages of the country under Swamitva scheme

The pilot phase  of  the SVAMITVA scheme  was launched  on 24 April 2020  for implementation in  2020-21.  The scheme was launched  at the national level on April 24, 2021 .  The Swamitva scheme is being implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Panchayati RajState Revenue DepartmentState Panchayati Raj Department  and  Survey of India (SOI) . States need to enter into Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Survey of India for the implementation of the scheme. So far  31 States/UTs  have signed MoU with SOI.  By 26 July 2023, 2,70,924 villages of the country Drone flying has been completed under the proprietary scheme. It is the responsibility of the respective State Governments to prepare and distribute property cards based on the maps prepared by the Survey of India under the Swamitva Scheme. However, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj is in dialogue with the States/UTs to integrate the property cards generated under the SVAMITVA scheme with the DigiLocker platform. Property cards have been prepared in 89,749 villages till July 26, 2023.

16 Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav launched RECEIC in Chennai

 Along with  India’s G20 Presidency , Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav  launched  the Resource Efficiency Circular Economy Industry Coalition (RECEIC)  in  Chennai . started. The coalition aims to promote the practice of resource efficiency and circular economy around the world by connecting companies from different sectors and countries. The event took place on the sidelines of the G20 Working Group on Environment and Climate Sustainability and the Environment and Climate Ministers’ Meeting. RECEIC consists of 39 companies headquartered in 11 different countries, representing a wide variety of businesses. These companies range from large international companies to startups and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), covering industries related to manufacturing, waste collection, sorting and recycling.

Amazon India  has   inaugurated its first floating store  on  Dal Lake in  Srinagar, Kashmir  . The National Assessment and Authority (NAAC)  recently appointed  Professor Ganesan Kannabiran  as the new director. Professor Kannabiran has a rich experience of nearly 30 years in the education sector, having served as Senior Professor of Information Systems at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Tiruchirappalli. During his career, he has held various leadership positions, including Novel, and Director Charges of Research and Consultancy.

19 BSNL’s Shivendra Nath next CMD of EPIL

Shivendra Nath,  a  1994-batch officer of UPSC, has  been selected by the PSEB (Public Enterprises Selection Board) panel to take up the role of Chairman and Managing Director in  Public Sector Undertaking (PSU)  Engineering Projects India Limited (EPIL)  . Nath started his engineering career in 1994, after being selected through the Union Public Service Commission as the Engineering Project Manager of the P&T Department of the Indian Engineering Services. Nath is working as Chief Engineer in BSNL since September 2020. Earlier, he held the post of Superintending Engineer in Naya Raipur Development Authority till January 2021. Presently, Nath is working as Senior General Manager in BSNL.

20 SEBI sets up CDMDF

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI)  announced   the setting up of the Corporate Debt Market Development Fund (CDMDF) . This SEBI-regulated fund is designed to act as a ‘ backstop facility ‘, providing support during stressed market conditions by purchasing investment-grade corporate debt securities. The Corporate Credit Guarantee Scheme (GSCD) aims to offer guarantee cover against debt raised or to be raised by CDMDF, thereby providing stability to the market in times of turbulence. The primary objective of the Corporate Debt Market Development Fund (CDMDF) is to instill confidence among market participants during periods of market stress.
