1.Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave emphasis on enhancing cooperation in maritime areas of ASEAN region. Said – India agrees with the idea of ASEAN countries of law-based society and peace :-
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India is committed to enhancing cooperation with ASEAN countries in the maritime sector. He said that India believes in the values of society and peace based on rules like ASEAN countries. While addressing the Indo-ASEAN Friendship Rajya Jayanti Summit in New Delhi Shri Narendra Modi said that the freedom of navigation in the sea sector in ASEAN will be India’s main agenda.
He said that India’s participation in the ASEAN countries is strong and in the last 25 years, mutual trade has increased 25 times. He said that the investment has increased and it is growing. India will strengthen business relations in the future and work for more contacts between business communities.
2.Declaration of 390 gallantry awards for the Armed Forces, the highest award of peace, Ashok Chakra, Jyoti Prakash Nirala of Indian Air Force, posthumously :-
The President has given approval of 390 gallantry awards and other defense ornaments. The gallantry prizes declared on the eve of 69th Republic Day include Ashok Chakra, Ek Kirti Chakra, 14 Shaurya Chakra, 28 Param Vishisht Seva Medals and four Uttam Yudh Seva Medals. 10 War Service Medals, 86 Sena Veeratha Medals, 3 Air Force Veeranti Medals, one Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and 121 Vishisht Seva Medals have been announced.
Ashok Chakra, Jyoti Prakash Nirala of Indian Air Force, is being given posthumous post to best heroes in the fight against militants.
3.The United Nations Security Council monitoring team reached Pakistan due to global pressures to take action against the conspirator Hafiz Saeed of the Mumbai attacks :-
The Security Council of the United Nations Security Council has reached Pakistan to review the compliance of the Council’s sanctions. This visit to the Committee on Security Council restrictions is happening between Pakistan and the growing pressure of the United States and India on Pakistan. These pressures are related to non-implementation of restrictions on those involved in Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed and those related to him. Under the proposal number 12 hundred 67 of the United Nations Security Council’s December 2008, the name of the JUD chief was put in the list.
4.North Korea appealed to the citizens of North Korea without any external intervention and the integration of South Korea :-
North Korea yesterday surprised all the citizens by appealing for the unification of North Korea and the integration of South Korea without any external intervention. He said that every obstacle coming in the way of the integration of the Korean Peninsula will be met with stubbornness and citizens should be ready to increase mutual contact, travel and cooperation.
5.China praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech against protectionism from the World Economic Forum in Davos :-
China welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech at the inaugural session of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. China’s Foreign Ministry has said that Shri Modi’s speech reveals the fact that economic globalization is a demand of time which is in the interest of all countries and especially developing countries. It has also been said that opposing trade protectionism and moving forward towards economic globalization are the shared programs of China and India and it is in the interest of both countries.
6.Haqqani Network’s top commander and two of his colleagues were killed in a US drone strike on the Afghan border :-
A chief commander of Haqqani network and two of his colleagues have been killed in a US drone attack on Khurram Agency in Pakistan’s troubled tribal area, Khurram Agency, on the border with Afghanistan. Officials said that two missiles were dumped from a drone on a house in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. During the attack in North Waziristan, Haqqani Network commander Ehsaan alias Khawari and two of his companions were killed.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has condemned the American drone attack on his land.
7.Republic Day celebrated with panic throughout the country :-
The Republic Day was celebrated with great respect throughout the day.
Republic Day is celebrated in Maharashtra with great fanfare. Governor Vidyasagar Rao hoisted the tricolor in Shivaji Park
In the main program of the state, the tricolor was hoisted at the hands of Governor Shri Vidyasagar Rao at Shivaji Park, Dadar. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was also present at the function. The flag was honored by the mayor Vishwanath Mahaeshwar in the premises of the Mumbai Metropolitan Corporation. The flag hoisting was also held at the Headquarters of the Central and Western Railways.
8.Celebrations of the Republic Day celebrate the festival of India on the Red Fort :-
Cultural program under the Republic Day celebrations – Bharat Abhiya is going on in Red Fort in Delhi on Friday.
The India festival will run for the general public till 31st of this month. Admission to this event is free.
