The Prime Minister   also released the 14th installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana  worth more than Rs 17 thousand crore to more than  eight crore 50 lakh farmers. Shri Modi  Chittorgarh Inaugurated  five new medical colleges  at  DholpurSirohi , Sikar and  Sri  Ganganagar and  laid the foundation stone of seven medical colleges in Rajasthan. The Prime Minister   inaugurated six Eklavya Adarsh ​​Residential Schools  in  UdaipurBanswaraPratapgarhDungarpur districts  and  Kendriya Vidyalaya Tiwari  in  Jodhpur . The Prime Minister said that in the last nine years, new systems have been created to take food grains from the farm to the market. He said that  the Soil Health Card Scheme in Suratgarh  in  the year 2015  was started in Shri Modi said that through this scheme, crores of farmers are taking appropriate decisions regarding the health of the soil. The Prime Minister said that one lakh 25 thousand PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendras will pave the way for the prosperity of the farmers.

The new airport has been built on one thousand five hundred acres of land at a cost of one thousand four hundred and five crore rupees. The Prime Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various projects worth over Rs 860 crore in Rajkot.

3 Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the ‘Mera Gaon Meri Dharohar’ (MGMD) initiative.

India’s Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister,  Amit Shah inaugurated an important initiative called  ‘ Mera Gaon Meri Dharohar ‘ (MGMD). The project   has been initiated by  the Ministry of Culture and aims at cultural mapping  of  6.5 lakh villages  of India across  29 states and 7 union territories  . ‘My Village My Heritage’ Initiative  National Cultural Mapping Mission It is an all India project run by the Ministry of Culture under the Ministry of Culture. The project seeks to create a comprehensive virtual platform that will connect people to the diverse cultural heritage of India’s villages. The primary objective of the project is to carry out cultural mapping of India’s vast network of villages, comprising 6.5 lakh villages across the country. By doing so, it aims to showcase and preserve the rich cultural diversity and vibrant traditions present in these rural communities. The project aspires to bring to the fore the hidden treasures of Indian culture and heritage, thereby encouraging people to take pride in their roots.

4 Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary to be declared as tiger reserve

Recently,   in a significant development for  tiger conservation efforts, the Goa Bench  of  the Bombay High Court  has directed the Government of Goa to declare  Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary  and its surrounding areas as  a tiger reserve  under  the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, within three months from July 24, 2023. Instructions have been issued to notify the same. The decision comes after a long legal battle and demands from environmentalists and conservationists and will have significant implications for wildlife conservation and forest dwellers. Located in Goa, Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary is known for its rich biodiversity and stunning landscapes. Spread over an area of ​​208.5 square kilometres, this sanctuary is a precious gem in the Western Ghats of South India. It is located near Valpoi town in Sattari taluka, North Goa district. With its diverse range of flora and fauna, this sanctuary has gained recognition for its ecological importance.

5 ISRO will launch satellites of Singapore

Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has  recently   announced the scheduled launch of Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle-C56 (PSLV-C56) carrying  DS-SAR satellite   from  Singapore on July 30, 2023. PSLV-C56 with DS-SAR satellite and six co-passengers to be launched from  Sriharikota on July 30, 2023 located at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre. The much-awaited event marks a significant milestone in space exploration and satellite technology. The DS-SAR satellite will be placed in a near-equatorial orbit with an inclination angle of 5°. This strategic position will enable the satellite to efficiently perform its assigned tasks and capture critical data and imagery. The DS-SAR satellite has been developed through a successful collaboration between the Defense Science and Technology Agency and ST Engineering, acting on behalf of the Government of Singapore. This collaboration showcases the combined expertise of these entities, which aims to leverage advanced technology for sustainable satellite solutions.

7. NIPCCD organizes event on ‘Mission Shakti – Hub of Women Empowerment’

Recently,  the National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD)  under  the Ministry of Women and Child Development has launched ‘ Mission Shakti-Hub for Women Empowerment’  for State Nodal Officers and State Mission Coordinators.Organized the first capacity building programme. NIPCCD is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Women and Child Development which works to promote voluntary action, research, training and documentation in the field of women and child welfare. One Stop Center for Gender Justice in Sambal, Women’s Helpline, Includes components like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Nari Adalat. The affordability includes schemes such as Swadhar Greh, Working Women’s Hostel, National Creche Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, along with a new component of fund gap for economic empowerment.

9 India and Japan review possibilities of cooperation in critical and emerging technologies including semiconductors, adaptive supply chain

Foreign Minister  S. Jaishankar  and  Japanese  Foreign Minister  Hayashi Yoshimasa  reviewed  the progress made in the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership  . The 15th India-Japan Foreign Ministers Strategic Dialogue was held   in New Delhi . The two sides held wide-ranging talks on issues of bilateral, regional and global importance. Emphasis was placed on further strengthening the partnership based on shared values ​​and principles. The importance of Japanese investment target of 5 trillion yen in India for the period 2022 to 2027 was also highlighted. 10 Rajya Sabha passed the Cinematograph Amendment Bill 2023

Rajya  Sabha   passed the Cinematograph Amendment Bill 2023 . It   proposes to amend the Cinematograph Act, 1952 . Some other certificate categories have been included in the Bill on the basis of age. Films with ‘A’ or ‘S’ certificate will require a separate certificate for exhibition on television or any other media as may be prescribed by the Central Government. This bill will prevent unauthorized recording and unauthorized exhibition of films. According to the Bill, the attempt of unauthorized recording will also be an offence. The Bill provides for the introduction of three age-based certificates under the ‘UA’ category i.e. ‘UA 7+’, ‘UA 13+’ and ‘UA 16+’ and the CBFC to provide a separate certificate for its exhibition on television or other media. The authority to clear the film along with the certificate has been given.

11 India strongly protests against China issuing stapled visas to players from Arunachal Pradesh

12 Supreme Court allows Sanjay Kumar Mishra to continue as director of Enforcement Directorate till 15 September

 Approval has been received from the Supreme Court to extend the tenure of  Enforcement Directorate  Director  Sanjay Kumar Mishra   till  September 15, 2023 . Mr. Mishra’s tenure was ending on July 31. The Center had filed an appeal in the court seeking extension of Mr Mishra’s service till October 15. Earlier, the court had completely refused extension to Mr. Mishra. The Center argued in the court that some neighboring countries wanted India to come under the Financial Action Task Force’s blacklist, hence the extension of the post of Director of Enforcement Directorate was necessary. The Supreme Court made it clear that under no circumstances thereafter, Mr. Of. No further extension will be given to Mishra.

16 WHO’s updated HIV and Mpox guidelines

The World Health Organization (WHO)  presented   updated guidance on human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)  during  the 12th International AIDS Society Conference . The guidelines emphasize the importance of HIV viral suppression and undetectable virus levels in improving personal health and preventing virus transmission. In addition, WHO has supported countries with existing HIV and sexually transmitted infection programs on  Mpox (monkeypox). Urged for early detection, prevention and integrated care. Mpox is a viral disease caused by monkeypox virus, a species of the genus Orthopoxvirus. It can be spread to humans through physical contact with an infectious person, contaminated material, or infected animals. A multi-country outbreak of Mpox in 2022–2023 is expected to result in more than 82,000 cases, of which approximately 32,000 are associated with HIV. The guidelines highlighted the effectiveness of antiretroviral therapy (ART) in preventing HIV transmission when undetectable virus levels are achieved.

The concept of debt-for-nature swaps was first conceived in the 1980s by the “godfather of biodiversity” Thomas Lovejoy.

The CRPF came into existence on 27 July 1939 as the Crown Representative’s Police. It was renamed the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on 28 December 1949 upon the enactment of the CRPF Act. On March 19, 1950, the then Home Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel presented the President’s Color to the CRPF for its meritorious services, after which the CRPF started celebrating this day as its Raising Day.
