1.Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated ‘Khilo India’ School Games :-

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first ‘Play India’ School Games at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi. These games will run till 8 February. The ‘Play India’ initiative will help in selecting sports talent from schools and developing them as future champions. This is the first time that the ‘Play India’ school games in the country’s capital New Delhi are going to start from January 31. ‘Play India’ School Games will be held in Delhi at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex, Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, Karni Singh Shooting Range and SPM Swimming Complex. North, south, A total of 16 teams are participating in North East India. The ‘Play India’ program is being launched to revive the sports at the grassroots level in the country. Under which in the priority category, the talented players will be given financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh each for eight years every year.

Indian Navy launches the third submarine INS ‘Karanj’ of the Scorpene class. In the presence of naval chief Sunil Lamba, submarine INS Karanj was dropped into the sea. INS Karanj was launched at the Mumbai Mazagon Dock. On December 14, 2017, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the first Scorpene class submarine INS Kalwari to the country. Kalveli has a better hiding technology than the previous diesel-electric submarines. The special point of INS Karanj is that it is an indigenous submarine, Which has been prepared under ‘Make in India’. Scorpion submarine ‘Karanj’ with its modern features and precise targeting capability can make precise targets by dodging enemies. This feature of Karanj will increase the problems of countries such as China and Pakistan. At the same time, ‘Karanj’ can attack with Torpedoes and anti-ship missiles. In the event of war, Karanj Submarine can safely escape from all kinds of hiccups and get out by dodging the enemies easily. There is also the specialty of attacking the enemy from inside the surface on the surface. This submarine has been designed in such a way that it can be operated in any kind of war. This submarine can accomplish tasks such as warfare, anti-submarine warfare, and intelligence gathering. Explain that the Kanraj Submarine is 67.5 meters long, 12.3 meters high, weighing 1565 tons.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today presented the last full budget of the present government before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. In the budget of 2018-19 in the Lok Sabha, Shri Jaitley has made provisions for the development of agriculture, rural economy, poor people’s education and health and relief to senior citizens as well as to provide basic infrastructure projects and better quality education. With the aim of increasing the income of the farmers, the Finance Minister has announced to double the minimum support price of the undeclared kharif crop by one and a half times. Describing this as a historic step, the Finance Minister said that this importance is in the direction of doubling the income of the farmers. Government has announced incentives to promote affiliate business after harvesting. For this, 42 mega food parks will be built. In order to give more revenue on the crop, there is a provision for complete exemption in tax incentives to farmers’ producer companies.

 

5.Will not let India become the capital of refugees in the world – Central Government :-

The central government has told the Supreme Court that she does not want India to be the capital of refugees in the world. Additional Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said this in the back of the Supreme Court headed by Principal Judge Deepak Mishra. The bench was hearing two Rohinhas refugees petition. The petition has alleged that the Border Security Force is using red chili spray and stun gun grenades to prevent refugees from entering India. The Solicitor General clarified that not everyone can be allowed to enter India and such matters should be left to the government. The Supreme Court has given the Center time till March 7 to respond to the petition.

 

6.National Health Defense Scheme for the help of 100 million poor families :-

The government has taken unprecedented steps in the field of health. Under the National Health Protection Scheme, about 10 crore people will be provided assistance in critical condition. On hospitalization, this assistance will be Rs. 5 lakhs per family. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that this is the largest government health scheme in the world. The government will provide sufficient funds to implement it. There is a proposal to increase the limit for deduction of health insurance premium or medical expenses from Rs. 30 thousand to 50 thousand rupees. Now the senior citizen can claim the benefit of deducting 50 thousand rupees per year for general medical treatment. Under Section 80 DDB, the relaxation of medical expenditure has increased to one lakh rupees in cases of critical illness. Apart from these concessions senior citizens will get an extra tax benefit of 4 thousand rupees. Keeping in mind the education and health needs of poor and rural households

 

7.Free gas connection to 80 million poor women :-

Under the Ujjwala scheme, the government will now provide free gas connections to eight million poor women. The first five crores were targeted. Initially, the target of free gas connections to five crore women was, but seeing the speed of the scheme, keeping in view its popularity, its target is going to increase. Now the government will provide free gas connections to eight crore poor women under the Ujjwala scheme.

 

8.Mobile phones and TV sets are expensive by increasing customs. While cheap panels and raw cashews cheap :-

There is a proposal to increase the customs duty on mobile phones from 15 percent to 20 percent. 15 percent of their spare parts and materials and some parts of television have also been brought under the purview of 15 percent customs duty. This will increase the opportunity of employment with the encouragement of the industries. To help the cashew processing industry, the Finance Minister has proposed to reduce the customs duty on raw cashews from five percent to two and a half percent.
