1.Telangana To Set Up Country’s First ‘Block Chain District’ In Hyderabad:-

Telangana released a draft block chain policy to set up country’s first ‘Block chain District’ in Hyderabad.Telangana released a draft block chain policy to set up country’s first ‘Block chain District’ in Hyderabad.It is aimed to create an ecosystem for major block chain companies, start-ups for promoting research, innovation and industry collaboration.Telangana Government signed an agreement with Tech Mahindra to set up the Block chain district in 2018.

2.Popular science books meet the important purpose of science communication – Secretary, DST:- 

Secretary of Science and Technology Department Prof. Ashutosh Sharma released four popular science books published by Science Promotions at a function organized in Indian National Science Academy (INSA) in New Delhi today.These popular science books include ‘Voyage to Antarctica’, ‘Story of Consciousness’, ‘An Autobiography of Moon’ and ‘Shambhu Nath Day – The Discovery of Cholera Toxin’ Pro. Ashutosh Sharma said that popular science books meet the important purpose of science communication. He said that efforts made by Shambhu Nath Dey in the pursuit of Cholera Toxin are not known in their own country. The book written about Shambhu Nath Dey can try to change that situation. Pro. Sharma said that “Voices to Antarctica” can be one of the authentic books about Antarctica. He said that the book ‘Story of Consciousness’ reflects the development of human consciousness in millions of years. He said that ‘An Autobiography of Moon’ is in the format of story telling where the moon is telling readers about their characteristics. He said that this book will attract the attention of readers of young age.Dr. Nakul Parashar, Director of Science Progress, in his address said that the primary objective of publishing books is to popularize science communication and to lead the message society of science.

 3.ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 begins:-

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 will begin today. England will open the tournament at The Oval in London when they will take on South Africa. The match will begin at 3 PM Indian Time. Australia will launch their title defence on June 1 against the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier champions Afghanistan in a day/night match in Bristol. India, the 1983 and 2011 world champions, will play their first match on June 5 against South Africa at the Hampshire Bowl in Southampton. Their feature match against arch-rivals Pakistan will be on June 16 at Old Trafford in Manchester. The World Cup will span 48 matches in all, of which 45 will make up the group stage. Each team will play nine group stage matches, and the top four will progress to the semifinals, similar to how the 1992 World Cup was held.

The ICC today launched the criiio campaign on the eve of the men’s World Cup, bringing together 460 million people playing cricket globally to celebrate the magnificent diversity of cricket. The ICC asked the fans to join the social cricket tribe by sharing pictures and videos of where and how they play cricket across the world using the newly launched hashtag #criiio and visiting the site criiio.com.ICC Chief Executive, Manu Sawhney said in Dubai that ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup brings together the best ten teams and players in the world. On this occasion, ICC wants to celebrate nearly half a billion fans playing social cricket around the world. Criiio is a celebration of all the brilliant and unique ways people play the game which can be played anywhere, by anyone and at any time.

 5.Rahi Sarnobat Clinched Gold In The Women’s 25m Pistol In 2019 ISSF World Cup:-

Rahi Sarnobat clinched gold in the women’s 25m pistol at the season’s thirdInternational Shooting Sport Federation World Cup in Munich, Germany.By this win, she sealed an Olympic quota place for India in style.She secured 37 (out of 50 shots) in the final. This is India’s first Olympic quota spot in this event. Sarnobat, the Asian Games champion, was second in the final behind compatriot Bhaker.However, once she got the lead, she maintained it till the gold medal shot.Olena Kostevych of Ukraine won silver with 36 hits while Bulgaria’s Antoaneta Boneva won bronze with 26.

6.Indian Overseas Bank Launches ‘Bank On Wheels’ Facility:-

Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has announced that it has launched ‘Bank on Wheels’ facility in 14 of its lead districts in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, besides Vijayawada.The mobile van facility will enable the public, especially senior citizens, conveniently get door-step banking facility available at identified locations of the lead districts.A dedicated banking correspondent will accompany the vehicle with a micro-ATM inside the van to take care of services such as account opening, enrollment of customers in Social Security Scheme, passbook printing, and other financial inclusion activities.

7.SpiceJet Became Fourth Indian Airline To Have A 100 Aircraft In Its Fleet:-

SpiceJet became fourth Indian airline to have a 100 aircraft in its fleet.Budget airline SpiceJet has added a new Boeing 737 aircraft to its fleet, taking its total strength to 100 aircraft.

The other three domestic airlines with 100 Aircraft fleet are:

– Air India

– Jet Airways

– IndiGo

Eight domestic carriers namely Air India, IndiGo, SpiceJet, GoAir, Air India Express, Vistara, AirAsia and Alliance together have 595 planes in their fleet at the moment.

Spicejet

It is a Gurugram based budget carrier. It has an aircraft fleet of 30 Bombardier Q-400s, 68 Boeing 737s, and two Boeing 737 freighters.

At present SpiceJet on an average operates 575 daily flights to around 62 destinations 53 domestic and 9 international.
