1.’Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’, close to completion, allocation reduction:-

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, which is aimed at enhancing the level of hygiene in India and the open defecation (ODF) in the open, is almost nearingcompletion, hence its allocation has been cut. It isexpected that more budget will now be allocated for schemes like solid waste management and drinking water supply.Most of the targets of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan have been achieved till 2 October 2018, so the ministry has reduced the allocation of this scheme. A top official of the ministry said, “This campaign, which inspires Bollywood to cinema on the issue of cleanliness, will go ahead as a solid waste management under a cluster system.”It was started in the year 2014. The main objective of this Government of India campaign is to declare the country as an ODF by October 2, 2019. For this, the target of constructing nine crore toilets in the rural areas at a cost of Rs 1.96 lakh crore is fixed. So far 5.6 lakh villages have been declared ODF.Expenditure Secretary Girish Chandra Murmu said, “Clean India campaign is about to end. Only 10 percent of the work left now. Only last work is left in the form of solid waste management. He is also in this expenditure, so its allocation is gradually decreasing.For the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the allocation for fiscal year 2019-20 has come down to around 25 percent. Announcing the proposal to expand the campaign, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that now its objective should be 100 percent solid waste management. This year, the revised estimates of Rs 12,644 crore for 2018-19 allocated for Clean India Mission (Rural) are Rs 4,334 crore less.

3.Health Ministry issues advisory to recruit doctors, para-medical staffs:-

The Union Health Ministry has issued an advisory to all states to fill up vacant posts of doctors and para-medical staff in hospitals to avoid excessive pressure on them and maintain the global doctor-patient ratio.In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Health Ashwini Kumar Choubey said, the Ministry has also asked the states to make a provision for providing extra monetary incentives to doctors and para-medical staff serving in remote areas.Mr Choubey said, the government has constituted a committee to examine various aspects of a uniform legislative framework to address the issue of assault on clinical establishments and doctors on duty.He said an advisory has already been issued to all states to consider immediate measures for inculcating an effective sense of security among the doctors on duty.The measures include installation of CCTV cameras and deployment of round-the-clock Quick Reaction Teams with effective communication and security gadgets particularly at casualty, emergency and areas having high footfalls.

4.Continuous rain damaged Asia’s largest solar Power project in Rewa:-

In Madhya Pradesh, continuous rain has damaged Asia’s largest solar Power project in Rewa.The damage was caused after heavy rain triggered a mudslide. Now the rain has stopped, and experts are busy repairing this power plant.As per the estimates, this project has suffered a loss of more than Rs 20 crores by rain.Production of the solar plant has also been affected and it has reduced about 90 MW. Generally, this solar plant produces 740 MW of electricity.Due to a sudden rise in the water level the many solar plates and other equipment were submerged. Water also reached inside the switch control board.A huge amount of debris was deposited on the equipment near the drainage area. Official sources claimed that experts have been called for repair and restoration work is going on in full swing.The units would be restored to commence its operational capacity shortly.

5.Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurates underpass near Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi:-

Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari inaugurated a three-lane underpass at Parade Road junction near Manekshaw Centre on NH 8 in New Delhi on Friday.It will decongest traffic to IGI airport. With the opening of the underpass, movement of traffic from the airport to Dhaula Kuan has now become signal free.The underpass was completed in a record time of 112 days. It is the part of National Highways Authority of India’s project for the development of a signal-free corridor from Dhaula Kuan interchange to IGI Airport.

6.SBI’s Anshula Kant appointed as World Bank MD and CFO:-

Anshula Kant, Managing Director of State Bank of India, has been appointed as MD and Chief Financial Officer of the World Bank.Ms Kant will be responsible for financial and risk management of the organisation.Her work will include oversight of financial reporting, risk management, and working closely with the World Bank CEO on the mobilization of the International Development Association (IDA) and other financial resources. IDA is the part of the World Bank that helps the world’s poorest countries.President of the World Bank David Malpass said Ms Kant brings more than 35 years of expertise in finance, banking and innovative use of technology.He said he looks forward to welcoming Ms Kant to the World Bank management team as it works to increase the effectiveness in supporting good development outcomes.

ICC cricket world cup 2019: The record of former Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar is still at stake in the 12th season of the World Cup. Now whether these records are broken or not, it will be known only in the final. The final match is to be played between England and New Zealand and if both the players of each team can do it well then Sachin’s record can be broken. The highest run in one World Cup season is Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin had done this amazing in the 2003 World Cup and till now the record is on his name. In this World Cup, Sachin scored a total of 673 runs. Now, let’s talk about this World Cup in which two batsmen are very close to this record. Indian batsmen Rohit Sharma and Australian batsman David Warner were batting like this, it seemed that Sachin’s record would be broken, but it did not happen. Rohit 648 while Warner stopped at 638 runs. The journey of both of them ended in the semi-final in this World Cup and it seemed that Tendulkar’s record was rarely broken. Rohit remained 26 runs behind this record, while Warner missed the world record by 27 runs.

In Table Tennis, the Indian pair of G. Sathiyan and Anthony Amalraj won the bronze at the World Tour Platinum Australian Open after they went down 12-14, 9-11, 8-11 to top seed Korean pair of Jeoung Youngsik and Lee Sangsu in Geelong near Melbourne today.This was India’s first ever medal in the Australian Open, which is a Platinum event.The Korean pair could not be pinned down despite being extended in the first game. But credit must be given to the Indian duo who fought really well before bowing out in the semifinal.However, Sathiyan-Amalraj can take pride in the fact that they had beaten the other Korean pair in the fray, Jang Woojin and Lim Jonghoon, in the quarterfinal. The Indian pair won 5-11, 11-6, 14-12, 11-8.

9.Stock market closed with declines, the worst recession in these stocks:-

The stock market today closed with a fall on Friday. In today’s business, the market was flat, but later it declined. The Bombay Stock Exchange’s sensitive index Sensex today closed down by 86.88 points to close at 38,736.23. The Sensex rose to a minimum of 38,684.85 points.

On the other hand, the National Stock Exchange index Nifty closed 30.40 points down at 11,552.50. Of the 50 companies of the Nifty today, shares of 22 companies were on green mark and 28 shares were on the red mark.Among the 50 companies of National Stock Exchange’s Nifty today, the fastest ones were seen in shares of Vedanta Limited, TATA STEEL, SUN PHARMA, ASIAN PAINT and YES BANK.

Among the companies included in the Nifty 50, today’s stocks have seen the most slump in WIPRO, ONGC, Bajaj Finance Limited, COAL INDIA and Larsen & Toubro Limited companies.

10.India, US restart bilateral trade talks:-

India and the US discussed the broad contours of bilateral trade and commercial ties and agreed to continue their discussions for achieving mutually beneficial outcomes aimed at further growing the economic relationship and addressing mutual trade concerns. A delegation led by Assistant United States Trade Representative (AUSTR) Christopher Wilson visited India on 11-12 July to explore potential for enhanced bilateral trade and economic engagement with India under the new Government.
The delegation held bilateral talks today with the Indian delegation led by Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce Sanjay Chadha, which included senior officials from other Government of India Ministries. The meeting was cordial and aimed at providing a new impetus tobilateral trade and commercial ties, in line with the mandate given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the US President Donald Trump during their meeting at Osaka, Japan on 28 June.AUSTR also called on the Commerce Secretary and Commerce and Industry Minister during the visit.
