1.PM Modi inaugurates Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose museum at Red Fort:-

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose museum at Red Fort in Delhi to mark the occasion. He unveiled the plaque to inaugurate the Museum.
The museum showcases various artefacts related to Subhash Chandra Bose and Indian National Army.
The artefacts include wooden chair and sword used by the leader, medals, badges, uniforms and other artefacts related to the INA. Mr Modi had laid the Foundation stone of the museum during the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of Azad Hind Government in October last year.The Prime Minister also visited the Yaad-e-Jallian Museum, which provides an authentic account of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre that happened on April 13, 1919.The museum also showcases the heroism, valour and sacrifices made by Indian soldiers during the World War-I. Mr Modi  also visited the Museum on 1857- India’s first war of Independence.The Museum portrays the historical narrative of 1857 war of independence, showcasing the valour and sacrifices made by Indians during the period. The Prime Minister also visited Drishyakala-Museum on Indian Art which showcases art works from 16th century till India’s independence.All these museums are located at the Red Fort. As a mark of respect to Netaji, the Centre has named Ross Island in the Anadman and Nicobar Islands as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Dweep. Hundred files related to Netaji have been declassified by the Government of India.

2.Uttarakhand receives season’s heaviest snowfall:-

Uttarakhand received the seasons’ heaviest snowfall . Nainital, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri received heavy snowfall, Mussoorie received nearly half-feet snow, while Dhanaulti is covered with snow since Monday night.Dehradun received incessant rain which started on Monday. Officials said, the Rishikesh-Badrinath national highway and some other roads are closed between Kund and Chameli due to snowfall.Met department said rain and snowfall might continue for the next few days.Badrinath, Yamunotri, Gangotri and Kedarnath are covered with snow, while many areas have been receiving rains for the past 24 hours.Cold wave has disrupted normal life in Tehri, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag and Chamoli districts. Schools have been closed due snowfall and rain in some districts.Road traffic in remote hilly areas has also been affected. While upper ranges of Uttarakhand are witnessing heavy snowfall, the plains received rains during the past 24 hours.

3.President Kovind to confer Pravasi Bharatiya awards:-

15th Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas (PBD) will culminate with valedictory address of President Ram Nath Kovind The President will also confer the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards to 30 recipients from all over the world. More than 5000 NRI are participating in the Pravasi Bharatiya Sammelan.Secretary overseas Indian affairs Gyaneshwar Mule told media that there were largest ever registration of 7,228 people this time and overseas delegates were about 5 thousand which is highest for any PBD. the last and final day of PBD. The opening day of event started with the Youth PBD and UP PBD on Monday and on the second day of event, PM Narendra Modi formally inaugurated the convention.
For the first time, the three day long convention is being organized in Varanasi, the cultural and spiritual capital of India. The theme of PBD Convention 2019 is “Role of Indian Diaspora in building New India”.Tuesday evening became memorable for NRIs who got the chance to see the famous actress and classical dancer Hema Malini performance as holy river Ganga and narration about the history of Ganga and how it’s getting polluted. before President’s valedictory address there will be three plenary sessions on different issues like Indian Community Organizations working for Indian nationals in distressed Situation, Role of Indian Diaspora in Capacity Building for Affordable Waste Management and Capacity Building of Artificial Intelligence in India.There will also be a special session on developing cyber capacity of India in afternoon.After the Convention, participants will visit Prayagraj for Kumbh Mela. They will then proceed to Delhi on 25th January and witness the Republic Day Parade at New Delhi on 26th January.

4.Indian Bankruptcy and Bankruptcy Board Organized Bankruptcy and Bankruptcy Awareness Program in Vadodara, Gujarat :-

Indian Bankruptcy and Bankruptcy Board has organized bankruptcy and bankruptcy awareness program in Vadodara in Gujarat with the help of Diva professional agencies – Indian bankruptcy professional institute of ICAI (Lead Partner), ICSI Institute of Insolvency Professionals and Insolvency Professional Agency of Institute of Cost Accountants of India – organised. A large number of stakeholders including students, professional people, bankers and businessmen attended the program.

Member of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Ahmedabad (Judicial) Hon. Mr. H.P. Chaturvedi while inaugurating the program, discussed the role of the judicial officers in the case of Corporate Bankruptcy Solutions and Liquidity Procedure under Bankruptcy and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. He said that this code is a dynamic law and it is constantly evolving to meet emerging needs. He said that the foundation solution for the bankruptcy solution process is professional. She conducts all the processes appropriately and conducts the management of the sick corporate debtor. He said that bankruptcy is the social responsibility of professional people because the solution process directly or indirectly affects the stake of many stakeholders.Mr. Rameshwar Dhariwal, Chief General Manager, IBBI told in his presentation that although this law is new, there have been many lessons in implementing it in the last two years. With this judicial decisions, this law has begun to reconcile. He reviewed the code and role of IBBI.

5.World Economic Forum’s annual conference begins in Davos:-

The annual conference of the World Economic Forum is being held in Davos from today, where leaders from around the world will discuss global issues for five days. The challenges faced by the world will be discussed in the conference between the fears of slowdown in the global economy and gradually slipping towards crisis. In addition to more than 30 Heads and Government Heads in the conference, the CEOs of global corporations and central banks , economists , civil society leaders , media heads , celebrities and the International Monetary Fund , World Health Organization , Economic Cooperation and Development Organization and World Bank There are more than three thousand delegates expected to participate.This year the subject of the World Economic Forum Conference – Globalization is 4 decimal zero: the creation of global structure in the era of the fourth industrial revolution. The conference will have many sessions centered on India.

6.Israel, US successfully test ballistic missile interceptors:-

The Israeli and US defence ministries today said, they have successfully tested ballistic missile interceptors deployed at Israeli airbases. The tests came a day after the latest deadly exchange of fire between Israel and Iranian forces operating in Syria. The Arrow 3 interceptor system, designed to shoot down missiles above the atmosphere, was deployed at air force bases across Israel two years ago. A Defence ministry statement said, Arrow 3, launched toward the target and successfully completed its mission, is intended to serve as Israel’s highest-altitude missile interception system. It said, it is a major milestone in the operational capabilities of Israel and its ability to defend itself against current and future threats in the region. With this, Israel has vowed to prevent Iran from entrenching itself in neighbouring Syria. Israel’s Arrow system has been partly financed by the United States.

7.Virat Kohli creates history, becomes first player ever to win Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Cricketer of the Year:-

Team India skipper Virat Kohli  history by becoming the first player in history to win the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Cricketer of the Year. The ICC said in a statement that Kohli  also won awards as the ICC Men’s Test Player of the Year and the ICC ODI Player of the Year.Kohli was also named captain of ICC’s Test and ODI teams of 2018 for a fabulous run in international cricket. India’s victory in the Under-19 World Cup was voted as the Fans’ Moment of the Year.The 36-member voting panel was unanimous in picking Kohli for the Sobers award. He  also ended the year at No. 1 in both the rankings for Tests and ODIs. Kohli scored 1,322 runs  in 13 Tests with five hundreds during the calendar year while in 14 ODIs he amassed 1202 runs  with six centuries. He also scored 211 runs in 10 T20 Internationals.
 His performance was put into sharper context by the fact that India played most of their cricket in 2018 away from the subcontinent.  South African cricketer Kagiso Rabada finished second both for the overall category and the one for Test players. Afghan cricketer Rashid Khan was the runner-up for the ODI award.  Among the other major winners were Rishabh Pant, who was named the Emerging Cricketer of the Year. Sri Lanka’s Kumar Dharmasena was named the Umpire of the Year, while New Zealand cricketer Kane Williamson won the Spirit of Cricket award.

8.New Zealand win toss, elect to bat against India:-

New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat against India in the first One-day International of the five-match series in Napier.Both wrist spinners – Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal – figured in the India playing XI, apart from all-rounder Vijay Shankar. Dinesh Karthik has been dropped at the expense of Ambati Rayudu, while Kedar Jadhav retained his place.Mitchell Santner and Doug Bracewell returned for New Zealand.

9.India will become the world’s second oil demand center by surpassing China:-

In 2019, leaving India behind China will become the world’s second largest oil demand growth center. This will be seen due to consumption of auto fuel and LPG. This estimation is made by research and consultancy group Wood McKenzie.

In his report, Wood McKenzie said that after recovering from the effect of the ban on bonding and implementation of GST (commodity and service tax), India’s oil demand growth has improved in the year 2018. Its contribution to global demand growth is 14 percent, or 2,45,000 barrels per day.

It said in its report, “We are estimating the demand for oil in the same level in 2019. As a result, India will become the second largest oil demand center in the world in 2019. America will be number one But India will be ahead of China. Transport will be two main drivers of gasoline and increase in demand of diesel and residential LPG oil. “According to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), India is currently behind the US and China and is the world’s third largest oil consumer. It consumed 206.2 million tonnes of oil during the financial year 2017-18. During the April-December period, the consumption of petroleum products was 157.4 million tonnes, which is 2.5 percent more than the previous year.
