1.Delhi High Court bans notification of Central Board of Secondary Education regarding upper age limit and eligibility criteria for neutrality :-

Delhi High Court has given an interim stay on the notification of Central Board of Secondary Education related to the upper age limit and eligibility standard for National Eligibility Entrance Examination. The bench of Justice Sanjeev Khanna and Justice Chandra Shekhar gave this order on the petitions of several candidates, who are seeking admission in medical. The last date for applying for medical admission is 9 March. For admission to MBBS courses in the notification of the Board, the upper age limit for the general category students has been kept for 25 years and 30 years for the reserved category. The interim order will continue till the next hearing on 6 April.   

 

2.CBI arrested Karti Chidambaram, son of Congress leader P. Chidambaram in a case of money laundering :-

Central Bureau of Investigation- CBI has given the INX In connection with the investigation of the money laundering case, the arrest of senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram’s son, Karti Chidambaram has been arrested. Karti was arrested at the airport only after returning from London to Chennai. Sources told that they will be brought to Delhi.

CBI. IXX The media case was filed on May 15 last year. The company had received three hundred and five crore rupees from abroad in 2007. This amount was received after the approval of the Foreign Investment Promotion Board during the tenure of the then Finance Minister P. Chidambaram. On this case Karti is accused of taking bribe of ten lakh rupees in this case. Enforcement Directorate has also filed a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

4.CBI interrogated Allahabad Bank Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer in connection with the Punjab National Bank scam :-

Central Investigation Bureau- CBI interrogated Allahabad Bank MD and Chief Executive Officer Usha Ananth Subrahmanyam in connection with the Punjab National Bank scam. Sources said that Ms. Anant Subrahmanyam was senior to the Punjab National Bank, from which Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi were getting the Guarantee Letter from fraud since 2011.

 

5.Central Board of Secondary Education will give exemption this time in the required number of Tenth students for passing :-

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to give a concession this time in the necessary number of passes for the students coming to take the 10th examination next week. The Board decided to pass a total of 33 per cent to pass the examination for the examinations this year only. These students will not be required to get separate 33% marks in board examination and internal assessment.

 

6.This year the National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination – NEET Increase the number of cities to 150 :-

This year the National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination – NEET Has increased the number of cities to 150. HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said in a tweet that the cities which have applied for more than four thousand or more students, and where the examination centers were not located in the previous year, will be made the examination center. The examination will be held on May 6.

 

7.Visually impaired candidates will be allowed to join the recruitment exams: Ministry of Railways :-

The Ministry of Railways has told the Delhi High Court that visually impaired candidates will be allowed to join the recruitment examinations. The Ministry has said that a new notification will be issued in this regard.

Vietnam’s President, Tran Dai Kwang has strongly advocated strengthening trade relations between the two countries. Simultaneously, he has also emphasized on increasing maritime and air connectivity in both the countries. The Vietnamese president’s advocacy has come at a time when China’s influence in the entire South Asian region is increasing. President Tran is arriving here on a three-day visit to India on March 2. He believes that India and Vietnam are strategically better positioned in South Asia and South East Asia, respectively.

In such a situation, there is widespread potential for enhancing cooperation between the two countries. President Tran said in an interview with PTI-language that both the countries are in a better position to increase economic activity in the maritime region. In this regard, we can increase mutual experience and exchange of information in making maritime strategies.

 

9.Ministry of Finance has instructed public sector banks to investigate all NPA accounts with more than Rs. 50 crores :-

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has instructed the public sector banks to investigate the possibility of fraud by investigating NPA accounts of more than five crore rupees, and such cases should be referred to the CBI. Financial Services Secretary Rajiv Kumar said that the managing directors of public sector banks have been instructed to find out the fraud in banks and report such cases to the immediate CBI.

This instruction has been given after diamond merchant Nirv Modi and his colleagues received a report of misuse of Punjab National Bank’s misrule of Rs. 12 thousand seven hundred crore rupees. Considering the NPA of about eight lakh crores rupees, the Finance Ministry has asked banks to immediately detect fraud and take action in the stipulated time frame.

 

10.Estimated food production record to reach 27.77 million tonnes in 2017-18 :-

The government has estimated the food production record to reach 27 million 74 lakh 90 thousand tonnes in 2017-18. Production was 275.5 million tonnes last year. In the second estimate yesterday, it was said that the production of pulses will increase from 2 crore 31 lakh 30 thousand tonnes to last year’s level of 29 million and 39 thousand 50 thousand tonnes compared to the previous year. Estimates of a shortage of 1.4 million tonnes in wheat production.
