The United Nations Security Council will now vote on a draft proposal in which all countries have been forbidden to open an embassy in Jerusalem. Egypt’s temporary member of the Security Council has presented this draft proposal. Earlier, an emergency meeting was convened in this regard.

 

2.Conservative leader Sebastien Pinera won the presidential election in Chile :-

Sebastian Pinera, a billionaire and conservative leader in Chile, has won the presidential election. His opponent middle-leftist Eckhalando Gillar has accepted the defeat. Over 98 percent of the votes have been counted. Pinera got more than 54 percent and Senator Geller got 45 percent of the votes.

 

3.More than 30 people killed in four settlements of Biliran Island in landslide due to tropical storm cyclone in Philippines :-

More than 30 people have died in the intermediate island province Biliran in the flood and landslide incidents due to cyclonic storms in the Philippines, and many others have disappeared. Thousands of tourists are trapped in the middle of the road.

Due to the storm, 89 thousand people have left their homes and migrated and have taken shelter in relief camps.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Botanical Garden section from Kalkaji of Delhi Metro on December 25. Delhi Metro sources have confirmed this. This will be the first corridor of the Metro, in which train control communication signal technology will be used.

 

5.In many states of northern India it is cold :-

Coldwater continues in north India. In many places yesterday the minimum temperature came down even below the pressure point. In Himachal Pradesh, the winter has increased in most parts and in spite of sunlight, the temperature has declined. All the sources of water including lakes ,  waterfalls ,  rivers ,  streams have been frozen.

In Jammu and Kashmir yesterday, the weather remained dry and in some places fog shadowed.

Although there was sunlight in Haryana ,  Punjab ,  Uttar Pradesh ,  Rajasthan and Delhi, due to snowy winds, the minimum temperature was below normal. In Punjab, Bathinda recorded the lowest temperature of 7 degree Celsius.

 

6.All political parties should form a consensus to pass the long pending Women’s Reservation Bill – Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu :-

Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu has said that all political parties should have a consensus to pass the long pending women reservation bill. This bill provides for reservation of 33 percent for women in Parliament and State Legislatures.

In the State Level Conference of Women Self-Help Group on Sunday in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, the Vice President said that efforts are also being made to give reservation to women in Parliament. Emphasizing the empowerment of women for the creation of a new India, he said that everybody should take care of the daughter-in-law of the central government ,  daughter-training campaign.

 

7.Finance Minister Arun Jaitley urges reforms in the judicial and educational system of the country :-

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has urged reforms in the judicial and educational system in the country. He said that this work has to be done for a long time. Mr. Jaitley said that the youth need to be adequately trained so that they can become future captains in every area of life.

This was stated by Mr. Jaitley on Sunday on the occasion of 14th Convocation of Symbiosis International in Pune.

 

8.Public Representation (Amendment) Bill 2017 will be presented today in the Lok Sabha :-

Public Representation (Amendment) Bill 2017 will be presented in the Lok Sabha today. National Council for Teacher Education (Amendment) Bill ,  Gratuity Payment (Amendment) Bill ,  Dentist (Amendment) Bill ,  Indian Forest (Amendment) Bill ,  Repeal and Amendment Bill , Central Road Fund (Amendment) Bill and Real Estate Acquisition and Acquisition (Amendment) Bill will also be introduced.

In the Rajya Sabha, the company (Amendment) Bill , the  Indian Institute of Management Bill and the Indian Petroleum and Energy Institute Bill will be brought.

 

9.Sensex bounce after more than two hundred points after election results :-

After the clash between the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party in the initial trends of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh assembly elections, the BSE Sensex index of the Bombay Stock Exchange, with an intense decline of eight hundred and seventy-six points, But later in the two states with the BJP strengthening, it improved. The Sensex, with a rise of two hundred and twentieth point, was at thirty-three thousand six hundred 75 shortly before. National Stock Exchange’s Nifty also climbed 74 points to ten thousand four hundred seven.

Initially, the price of the rupee declined by 68 paise but later it improved rapidly and only seven paise was lost with a dollar 64 rupees and 11 paise.

 

10.India can convene meeting of some WTO countries in February :-

Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu said that in February, India will call for a meeting of some WTO member countries in order to raise support on food security and other issues.

It comes at a time decided to take action ,  when the developed countries to increase investment services ,  to prepare rules for e-commerce ,  are preparing the ground to promote gender Samnta and less subsidies on fisheries.

According to officials ,  this meeting will help India in favor of various issues before the member countries and prepare for the collective action.
