1.Commerce & Industry Minister Shri Suresh Prabhu’s Message to startup community in India  :-

Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Suresh Prabhu went live on social media to address the startup community in India.

He appreciated the role of startups in building economy and society and congratulated the startup community.

He said that world around is changing fast and startups are poised not only to take advantage of change but also trigger change. He expressed that future is bright for people who are willing to take risks.

 

2.Centre allows import of 3 LMT of raw sugar through southern ports of India at 25 % import duty  :-

To supplement the availability of sugar in southern India and to stabilize sugar price, import of 3 LMT of raw sugar through southern ports of India at 25 % import duty under Open General License (Tariff Rate Quota) has been allowed through millers/refiners.

The import shall be open to millers/refiners who have their own capacity to convert raw sugar into refined /white. The imports will be allowed through the ports viz.

Tuticorin, Karaikal, Chennai, Mangalore, Kakinada, Gangavaram and Vishakapatnam in the South. The scheme shall be operated by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) as per their rules and regulations.

Applications shall be received online by DGFT at sugarimporttrq-dgft@nic.in from 8th to 12thSeptember, 2017. Details of the scheme can be seen on the website of DGFT ( www.dgft.gov.in).

 

3.DPSUs and OFB in Support of Central Armed Police Forces  :-

The Defence Minister Smt Nirmala Sitharaman has stressed on the need to become more indigenous in Defence Production. She appreciated the consistent efforts being made by the Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) and Ordnance Factories (OFs) in this direction. She was speaking on the occasion of handing over of several products developed by DPSUs and OFs to the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) here.

 

4.MoS Shri Kiren Rijiju attends the Closing Ceremony of 18th BSF Inter Frontier Tennis Championship  :-

The Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Kiren Rijiju attended the Closing Ceremony of the 18th BSF Inter Frontier Tennis Championship here today.

62 players from 13 Frontiers and establishments of the Border Security Force contested in different disciplines of the game for four days. Smt Rina Mitra, Special Secretary (IS), MHA also graced the occasion.

 

5.Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi inaugurates “New India- We Resolve to Make” exhibition cum cultural event in Mumbai  :-

  1. India has made itself apart from the Bali manifesto in Indonesia :-

India has separated itself from the Bali manifesto released on the global stage in Indonesia. During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Myanmar, he assured the government that India will be with him on the rebellion in the region.

Under the leadership of Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, the team, which reached there, mis-proposed the proposal of the World Parliamentary Assembly, in which Myanmar was mentioned as an unstable country. India said that Myanmar’s crisis is their internal crisis and it does not have to be raised on the international stage.

 

7.Indigenous teenage youngest pilot :-

Fourteen-year-old Bharatvanshi Kishor Mansur Anis, who lives in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has become the youngest pilot. Anis achieved this achievement by flying an engine plane in Canada. They flew for about ten minutes.

Anis, who studied in class nine, was certified by AAA Aviation Flight Academy of Canada last week. The certificate says, “Anis completed his first solo flight by successfully flying the plane from Langley Regional Airport at the age of 14.”

After this achievement, Anees, who returned to UAE, claimed that he had done the shortest time (25 hours) training. In the case of the youngest pilot, Anis broke the record of pilots of the United States and Germany, who flew after 34 hours of training.

 

8.The issue of development assistance between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and State Councilor of Myanmar was discussed – Foreign Secretary S.Jayashankar :-

Foreign Secretary S.Jayashankar said that the discussion on the issue of development assistance to Myanma was mainly discussed in the interaction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and State Councilor Ou Sanchi of Myanmar.

Giving information to reporters in Yangon, Shri Jaishankar said that India is one of the countries with the most development assistance to Mumma. He said that the Prime Minister agreed to open two more industrial training centers in Myanmar.

 

9.India and Japan agree to collaborate in defense production, including dual-use technologies :-

India and Japan have agreed to become partners in defense production. It will also include the double use of technologies. Under the bilateral special strategic framework, donations have agreed to increase the military cooperation throughout the country.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Japanese Defense Minister Itunori Onondera had detailed talks on Tuesday in Tokyo. This talks were done under the India-Japan Annual Defense Ministerial Dialogue.

Before the reshuffle in the Cabinet on Sunday, Jaitley also had the Defense Ministry. Now Nirmala Sitharaman has been made defense minister, but due to the meeting from the past, Defense Minister Jaitley has to go to Tokyo. According to a joint statement released on Wednesday, During the talks, the issues related to the US-2Febibus aircraft were also raised.

India has planned to buy US-2 Shinmayawa aircraft from Japan for its Navy. Last year, it was reported that Japan would provide arms to Japan at cheap rates. China had a strong reaction to the news.

India and Japan have also agreed to start a technical discussion for research cooperation.

Both countries will cooperate in the field of unmanned ground vehicles and robots. Apart from this, both countries will increase cooperation against terrorism.
