1.The President of Afghanistan on a one-day visit to India :-

Afghanistan’s President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has come to New Delhi on a one-day visit to India.

They will meet President Ramnath Kovind and hold a representative level discussion with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Shri Modi will give lunch in respect to dignified guests. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will meet President Ashraf Ghani.

Mr. Gani will also address the masses at the Vivekanand International Foundation This visit is taking place after the recent high level discussions between the two countries, which include the recent meetings of the Bilateral Strategic Partnership Council and the recent visits of Afghan Chief Executive Dr Abdullah Abdullah and External Affairs Minister Salahuddin Rabbani.

Both sides will also review the format of multilateral bilateral strategic partnership, including cooperation in the field of development. Apart from this, the leaders of both countries during this visit, peace in Afghanistan, Discuss issues such as promoting security , sustainability and prosperity.

 

2.Delegation level talks of Afghanistan President with Prime Minister Modi :-

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today met Afghan President Ashraf Ghani. The two leaders reviewed the multi-faceted aspects of mutual strategic partnership.

They also discussed the efforts to tackle the problem of terrorism. Along with this , there is also a discussion on enhancing cooperation for peace , security , sustainability and prosperity in Afghanistan . Earlier , Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani met President Ramnath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan. In a meeting with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, the two leaders discussed regional and bilateral issues.

This one-day visit of Mr Ghani to India is very important ,Because US Foreign Minister Rakes Tillerson is also reaching India on a three-day visit this evening. The Trump Administration is keenly interested in India’s special role in the peace process in Afghanistan.

 

3.Political parties welcomed the Center’s decision on Kashmir issue :-

Political parties have welcomed the decision of the Center to appoint a representative of the government for talks on the issue of Kashmir on Dinshawar Sharma, former Director of Intelligence Bureau.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has said that it is time to start a dialogue and only solution can be made from this.

Mehbooba expressed her happiness and said that this is a good and important beginning in the atmosphere at this time.

Bharatiya Janata Party national general secretary Ram Madhav said that this is a right decision. Farooq Abdullah of the National Conference has described this decision as a promising remedy. Congress national spokesman Manish Tewari said that this is an encouraging sign.

 

4.The political parties should consider bringing the Right to Information Act into the realm of Election Commission – Supreme Court :-

The Supreme Court has asked the Election Commission to consider the petition of political parties to bring the Right to Information Act into the ambit of the Act.

Its aim is to make political parties accountable and curb the use of black money in elections.

The bench of Chief Justice Deepak Mishra and Justice AM Khanvilkar and DC Chandrachud asked the petitioner to raise this issue before the Election Commission.

 

5.Prime Minister Modi appreciated UN efforts to promote world peace :-

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appreciated the United Nations’s efforts in promoting world peace.

He also praised many initiatives in the direction of the United Nations.

In congratulatory message on the occasion of United Nations Day, Shri Modi said that India supports many programs of the United Nations with the aim of making the world a better place and is actively participating in it.

 

6.MahaPrav Chhath of Sun-Pasana with Bhaichi-Khay starting :-

MahaPrav Chhath of Lok Ayogya and Suryapasana has started.

The rituals are being started with the traditional bathing meal. Seeing the Chhath Maha Parve, the entire atmosphere has become devotional.

Special preparations are being made to take care of Chhath Puja in various Sun temples.

The government of all the states has made stringent security arrangements during Chhath this time.

 

7.Penalty for delayed filing of GST’s initial recruitment for August and September :-

The Government has waived offense for delayed filing of initial return for goods and services tax-GST for the months of August and September. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that while granting the facility to the taxpayers, late fees for late and filing late GST R-3-B for the months of August and September have been waived.

He has been charged late fees from the traders , it will be credited back to the accounts of taxpayers.

Earlier, the government had waived late fees to file returns in July under GST.

 

8.TRAI recommends 40% reduction in carbon emissions by 2022-23 :-

Indian Telecommunication Regulatory Authority – TRAI has recommended 40 % reduction in carbon emissions in the telecom network by 2022-23 .

TRAI has also suggested that the government should make available benefits to the telecom operators for the use of renewable energy technology under various schemes.

 

9.Jitu Rai and Heena Sidhu win ISSF Shooting World Cup gold medal :-

Jitu Rai and Heena Sidhu have secured the first gold medal for India in the ISSF World Cup final.

On the first day of this competition organized in New Delhi, the Indian couple has achieved this success in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team Competition. In the team event, Jitu and Heena were the third overall and the first gold medal in the ISSF World Cup. Mixed team competition was organized in the World Cup this year and it will be formalized in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

 

10.FIFA transfers Kolkata to Guwahati :-

FIFA has transferred the semifinal match between Brazil and England in the Under- 17 Football World Cup to the Yuva Bharti Kridangan in Kolkata. This match will be played at five o’clock in the evening.

Earlier it was to be held in Guwahati , but due to the rain on the 21st of the quarterfinal match between Ghana and Mali , it has been shifted to Kolkata due to the concerns of the Brazilian coach and players regarding the ground.
