1.Prince Charles endorses new ‘Education Bond’ for India :-

Prince Charles of Britain has supported the new ‘Development Bond’, which aims to provide education to the disadvantaged children in India. Charles, who is visiting Asia these days, is coming to New Delhi.

The Education Development Impact Bond (DIB) of $ 10 million has been set up by the British Asian Trust. This trust was established by the Prince of Wales to deal with poverty in South Asia. DIB aims to improve the results of study for thousands of children of the disadvantaged sections in India.

This is a way to invest in bond innovation and sustainable social impact which will be linked to performance and results in education initiatives. It will be launched in India and later it will be tried in the other areas which come under the scope of the Trust’s campaign.

 

2.Twitter is raising the limit of 140 words to 280 for its users :-

Twitter is going to double the number of words, that is, 280, eliminating the limit to say in 140 words to its users.

However, for the people who write in Chinese, Japanese and Korean, the limit of letters will still be 140, because these languages require very few letters to write.

 

3.After remonstrations, 77 cases of invalid currency conversion and seven preliminary investigations were registered :-

Central Bureau of Investigation CBI has registered 77 cases and seven preliminary investigations for conversion of invalid currency after remittance in banks and post offices and various departments and agencies. In these cases, the currency of more than 395 crore rupees was changed.

CBI has also raided the banks and other institutions. During the interrogation, the CBI has so far arrested 21 government officials and 26 non-governmental people.

 

4.All preparations for the upcoming Himachal Pradesh assembly elections will be completed tomorrow :-

All preparations for the upcoming Himachal Pradesh elections will be held tomorrow. This is the first state where voter confirmation slip will be used with EVM at all polling stations.

More than 37 thousand election workers have established seven thousand five hundred and 25 polling stations for more than 50 lakh voters across the state. The Election Department identified nine hundred and 83 polling booths as sensitive, while three hundred 99 susceptible.

The voting parties have reached in remote areas such as Pangi of Bharmour, Big Bhangal of Baijnath and Rohru constituency, Dodara Kawar. There are only six voters in the polling station in the Kinnaur tribal reserve constituency. In Kangra district, two polling booths of Dharamsala constituency will be fully managed by the Divising Authority.

 

5.Parking fee may increase for air pollution prevention :-

The Environmental Pollution Prevention and Control Authority authorized by the Supreme Court has suggested to increase the parking fee four times to deal with the problem of air pollution in Delhi and National Capital Region and reduce the cost of metro in less congested time.

In view of rising air pollution, the meeting of the Authority was held in New Delhi and gradually several measures were announced under the action plan. These measures include brick kilns, hot mixed plants and stone crushers completely closed up to the next order in the entire area.

The Central Government has appealed to Delhi and surrounding states to take effective steps for reduction in air pollution in the National Capital Region. Environment Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan has asked the State Governments to take other simple steps along with cheap and effective measures.

 

6.Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex rises 53 points to 33 thousand 424 :-

The Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange opened 53 points higher at 33 thousand 424 in the opening trade. It was 33 thousand 221 shortly before. The Nifty of National Stock Exchange also reached 10,298.

In the foreign exchange market, the rupee fell 13 paise against the dollar. A dollar 65 rupee 16 paise was spoken

 

7.Customer Road Coal Distribution App Launch :-

According to PIB, Union Minister of Railways and Coal, Shri Piyush Goyal launched ‘Customer Road Coal Distribution App’ for the benefit of the customers of Coal India Limited (CIL) for carrying out coal from the road.

This app suited for customers was recently launched in Kolkata on the installation day of CIL. This app helps to bring transparency in sending tasks, as a means of monitoring, in this way, whether the dispatch has been made on the principle of ‘First In First Out’. It keeps track of all activities from the sale order issuance to the actual delivery of the road.

 

8.Sufficient amount has been released for rural development :-

In the year 2017-18, the government has released a maximum allocation of Rs 48,000 crore on the basis of budget estimates for MNREGA. This year, the Rural Development Ministry has received a total amount of Rs 1,05,442 crore for all schemes. Ministry of Rural Development is paying wages in 85% cases within 15 days.

 

9.Virat Kohli gets top spot in ICC T20 rankings :-

Indian captain Virat Kohli remains on top of the ICC T20 rankings while opening batsman Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan have also improved. Kohli scored 104 in the T20 series. He got 13 points from this performance and now he is 40 points ahead of Australia’s Aaron Finch, who is in second place. Rohit scored 93 runs in three games and Dhawan scored 87 runs. Rohit has climbed up three places to 21st and Dhawan is at the 45th position by leaping 20 places.

Fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar reached the 26th position in Indian bowlers while spinner Yuswendra Chahal climbed 22 places to 30th. Left-handed spinner, Akshar Patel, ranks 17th in the 62nd position. In the team rankings, India has gained three points but on the basis of the calculation after decimal, it is at fifth position after England.

 

10.Sri Lankan cricket team arrives in Kolkata :-

Sri Lanka team led by Dinesh Chandimal reached Kolkata for a six-week tour of India. The tour begins with a series of three Tests, with the first match starting on 16 November.

The Sri Lankan team will play a series of three Tests, three ODIs and three T20 Internationals against the Indian team led by Virat Kohli. Sri Lanka’s 15-member team will practice tomorrow on the nets, after which they will play a two-day warm-up game against the Board President XI. This match will start from November 11.
