1.Trinamool Leader Sultan Ahmed Is No More :-

Former Union minister and sitting Trinamool Congress MP Sultan Ahmed has died following a cardiac arrest.

He was elected to the Lok Sabha from Uluberia constituency from Trinamool Congress party.

He was the Union Minister of State for Tourism in the UPA government.

 

2.Ministry of DoNER to organise “North East Calling” on 09th-10th September  :-

The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Government of India is organising an event “North East Calling” under its Destination North East series of this year.

The purpose of the event is to promote the art, culture, heritage, cuisine, handicrafts, business and tourism of North East India. The event will showcase all activities and products of North-East and it coincides with the 16th Anniversary of Ministry of DoNER.

 

3.Department of Financial Services advises all Banks to take immediate steps to put restrictions on bank accounts of over two lakh ‘struck off’ companies  :-

Government has stepped up decisive action against companies falling within the ambit of Section 248 of the Companies Act. The names of 2,09,032 companies have been struck off from the Register of Companies under Section 248 (5) of the Act.

The existing Directors and Authorized Signatories of such struck off companies will now become ex Directors or ex Authorized Signatories.

These individuals will therefore not be able to operate bank accounts of such companies till such companies are legally restored under Section 252 of the Companies Act by an order of the National Company Law Tribunal.

The restoration, as and when it happens shall be reflected by change in the status of the company from ‘Struck off’ to ‘Active’.

 

4.Shri Ashwini Choubey inaugurates Synmposium on ‘Life after Spinal Cord Injury’ :-

Shri Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Hon’ble Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare inaugurated the Symposium on ‘Life after Spinal Cord Injury’ on the occasion of World Spinal Cord Injury Day at the AIIMS Trauma Centre, here today.

The Minister also released a Home Care Book for Spinal Cord Injury and also felicitated the Spinal Cord Injury patients treated at the Trauma Centre.

Speaking at the function, Shri Ashwini Choubey said that there is a dire need for setting up more well equipped Spinal Cord Injury Centres in the country.

 

5.Shri R K Singh takes over as new Power & New Renewable Energy Minister  :-

Shri Raj Kumar Singh took over as new Union Minister of State (IC) in Ministries of Power & New & Renewable Energy here today. Shri Piyush Goyal, New Railways Minister & former Power Minister was present to hand over the charge to Shri Singh .

Speaking to media after assuming his office , Shri Singh said that there is lot of dynamism in the both Power & Renewable Energy Ministries which will be continued.

Shri Singh said, that he would meet all standards of performance set by the his predecessor and new Railway Minister Shri Piyush Goyal in the Ministries of Power and Renewable energy .

The Country is now energy surplus and that the vision of the Ministries has been defined by his predecessor , Shri Singh added .

 

6.NITI Aayog calls renewed focus on Nutrition, launches the National Nutrition Strategy  :-

Leader of the Green Revolution Dr. M.S Swaminathan and Padma Shri Dr. H Sudarshan, today, launched the National Nutrition Strategy, along with Vice Chairman Dr. Rajiv Kumar and Member Dr. Vinod Paul.

With a benefit to cost ratio of 16:1 for 40 low and middle-income countries, there is a well recognized rationale, globally, for investing in Nutrition.

The recently published NFHS-4 results reflect some progress, with a decline in the overall levels of under nutrition in both women and children.

However, the pace of decline is far below what numerous countries with similar growth trajectories to India have achieved. Moreover, India pays an income penalty of 9% to 10% due to a workforce that was stunted during their childhood.

 

7.BRICS leaders reiterated their commitment to the free and inclusive economy, and strongly opposed protectionism :-

The BRICS leaders have strongly opposed protectionism by repeating their commitment to the free and inclusive economy.

The view of the participants is that BRIC leaders have called Lashkar-e-Toiba and Jaish-e-based Pakistan to call for greater view of fighting terrorism. – Taking the name of terrorist outfits like Mohammad, a bigger India campaign against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism Is being considered.

At the eighth BRICS conference last year in China, China had opposed the inclusion of Pakistan-backed terrorist organizations in the manifesto.

 

8.Star India will become the most expensive cricket property in the world :-

Indian Premier League has got a new media partner in the form of Star India. The total cost of all types of bids, which the media giant Rupert Murdoch has set up, will have a total cost of around Rs. 16,347.50 crores ($ 2.55 billion) for the next five years.

Murdoch’s group has bought the Global Media Rights of IPL, in this race, he has over a dozen media veterans, including Facebook, Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Sony chief.

 

9.Good news for central employees, considering minimum wage increases to 21,000 government :-

Under the 7th Pay Commission, the government is considering increasing the minimum wage. In this case, it may be a good news for central employees. According to the information, the finance ministry can increase the minimum wage of central government employees to Rs 21,000.

Let us tell you that at present, the minimum wage of the Central employees is 18,000 rupees. Once it has been sanctioned to the government, it will increase from 18,000 to 21,000 rupees per month. This information has emerged from some media reports.

 

10.Thousands of Indians on the threat of expulsion from Trump’s decision :-

US President Donald Trump has overturned the previous Obama administration’s decision to give exemption to children admitted illegally in the country. It had arrangements for issuing work permits to children who were coming there illegally.

This decision of Trumpet is expected to affect eight lakh registered workers worldwide. Of these, seven thousand Indians are also there.

According to US Attorney General Jeff Session, Trump has decided to end the program called ‘Defred Action for Children Arrival’ (DACA). This was an important immigration reform done by former President Barack Obama.
