    1.Visit of Bhutan Prime Minister to official India :-

    Bhutan’s Prime Minister Daso Shring Tobage is coming to India’s official visit today. They will have a broad discussion on various issues related to bilateral relations and common interests with the Indian top leadership. According to a statement issued from the Ministry of External Affairs, the Prime Minister of Bhutan will be on India’s journey from July 5 to 7. They are coming to India on the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During his visit Mr. Tobage, President meets Ramnath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, along with several other ministers, will also be meeting Bhutan’s Prime Minister. It has been said in the statement of the Ministry of External Affairs that there is a unique relationship between friendship and friendship between India and Bhutan based on mutual trust and understanding.

     

    2.The first meeting between Iran and the world powers after Iran’s exit from Iran’s nuclear deal :-

    3.Karnataka government has waived debt of farmers, enhanced tax on petrol and diesel :-

     

    Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has announced to allocate Rs 34,000 crore for farmers’ debt waiver during the budget. He has announced to waive the debt of farmers up to two lakh rupees. However, he has decided to increase the tax on petrol and diesel. Petrol price has been increased by 1.14 per liter, diesel 1.12 per liter and electricity rates by 20 paise. Kumaraswamy, while announcing the budget of Rs. 2,13,734 crore, said that he would continue all schemes of Siddaramaiah Government. Mr. Kumaraswamy has announced to allocate Rs 34,000 crore for debt waiver. The government has increased the tax on petrol from 32 to 32 percent and diesel has increased from 19 percent to 21 percent.

     

    4.Finance Minister Piyush Goyal will meet with the chairmanship of various banks :-

    Finance Minister Piyush Goyal will hold meetings with the heads of various banks. This meeting has been convened to consider the framework of the agreement between lenders. Under the ‘Project Empowerment’, the Sunil Mehta Committee has suggested setting up this framework for faster resolution of loans trapped in the banking system. The meeting was organized by the Indian Banking Association. While accepting the recommendations of the Sunil Mehta Committee earlier this week, the Finance Minister had said that the bank will set up asset management companies and operating committees to deal with the fast-tracked debt.

     

    5.India proposes to make a joint venture for Sri Lanka to operate Matla airport: Ashok Abhishek Singh :-

    There can be a dialogue between India and Sri Lanka to create a joint venture for the operations of the Mataala International Airport, which runs in deficit in South Sri Lanka. An Indian delegation has come to Colombo in this regard. Sri Lankan transport deputy minister Ashok Abhayasinghe gave this information in response to a question in Parliament. The opposition had asked him whether the Metro airport would be sold completely. Abhayasinghe said that India has expressed the desire to run this airport as a joint venture of Sri Lanka-India. He said that despite the loss, the airport will not be sold at all. The name of the Metalla airport has been named after Sri Lanka’s Puravrapatiya Mahinda Rajapakse. Due to the lack of flights, the airport, built at a cost of $ 21 million, became the world’s most emptied airport. The only international flight to fly here is also the losses and flight safety issues.

    8.Indian professor gets China’s top business institute :-

    In the US, well-known Indian Professor Deepak Jain has been appointed the head of China’s top global business school. 61-year-old Deepak was born in Tezpur, Assam and his school was studied there.

    Deepak has been appointed as the European President of China’s Europe International Business School (CEBS) in Shanghai. He will replace Pedro Nueño, who has been holding this post for 28 years. Deepak will handle this responsibility with his Chinese counterpart Li Mingjun.
