- Before the interview, do your research and practice.
- Mind your body language. Sit straight and do not slouch or fidget.
- Wear dark or neutral-coloured formal or semi-formal attire.
- Do not space out. Nod your head or smile now and then.
- If you can’t answer the question right away, ask the interviewer a minute or two to collect your thoughts.
- Take at least three resumes with you.
- Be confident but not too overconfident that you seem smug.
- Do not answer questions with just a ‘Yes” or a “No’ or an “I don’t know.”
- Never interrupt the interviewer while they are speaking.
- Send a thank-you note within 24 hours after the interview.
