1.1lakh 64 thousand refugees fleeing Myanmar to Bangladesh in the last fortnight – United Nations

2.Center to launch school for children not going to school :-

Shri Naidu said that no country can become a developed nation by then until its citizens become completely literate.

 

3.Government will soon bring policy for electric vehicles – Road Transport and Raj Marg Minister Nitin Gadkari :-

Government will soon bring about policy on electric vehicles. Road Transport and Raj Marg Minister Nitin Gadkari said this during the annual function of the Indian Automotive Manufacturers Association. He said that the cabinet note about the electric vehicles is almost ready in which the charging centers will be taken care of. Mr. Gadkari asked the car makers to do research about electric vehicles.

Shri Gadkari said that he wants that the speed of sale of cars in the country is slow as the sale of vehicles of BRICRI specially diesel driven vehicles is getting stuck and the pollution is increasing. He said that vehicles running from petrol and diesel will have to provide electric power trains and engines for other fuel-driven engines, such as ethanol and biofuel.

He asked the automakers to solve public vehicles through diversification. Shri Gadkari said that the government is planning to create a platform or app like Uber and Ola, which would help in utilizing two-wheeler vehicles as a taxi. This will reduce the use of cars especially in smaller cities.

 

4.Supreme Court has given six weeks time to the Center to find a cordial solution to the Sutlej-Yamuna link canal dispute between Punjab and Haryana :-

The Supreme Court has given the Center six weeks to find a cosmic solution to the Sutlej-Yamuna Link Canal dispute between Punjab and Haryana.

Attorney General K. K. Venugopal told the bench headed by Chief Justice Deepak Mishra that efforts are being made to resolve the dispute between the two states and there is more time for this.

The bench has fixed the next hearing on November 8 while considering the central government’s demand.

 

5.ICAR will start with the help of World Bank, a major research work in the field of agriculture :-

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) will undertake major research work in agriculture sector this year with the help of World Bank.

The World Bank will provide eleven billion rupees for it. At the convocation of Veterinary Science University in Tamilnadu, Deputy Director General of the Council Narendra Singh Rathore said that this amount will be allocated to the country’s ten major Agricultural and Veterinary Universities.

Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr. S. Tijagar said that two more research centers would be set up in Tamil Nadu for the protection of indigenous species of bulls.

7.Israeli air strikes on Syrian military hideout :-

Israeli fighter aircraft attacked Syria’s military bases. Two Syrian soldiers were killed in this attack. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a surveillance body of Syrian civil war, has confirmed this attack.

8.Modi-Abe will lay the foundation stone of the bullet train project on September 14 :-

9.BSNL prepares for 5G service launch :-

Government Telecom Company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited BSNL can launch 5G service in India by next year. Anupam Srivastava, Chairman and Managing Director of the company said that Nokia has been talking to Nokia for launching 5G service in India.

Also in the process of talks with BSNL, Larsen & Toubro and HP about 5G service equipment. Shrivastav said that the Field Trial of this service will be started in March 2018 at the end of the current financial year.

BSNL has tied up with Correion for 5G. The Corrient and BSNL have signed this agreement to improve the 5G service. Shrivastav said that the speed of the 5G network would be much higher than the 4G.

 

10.Government asks tax officials to bring 300 million companies within the purview of the government :-

The government has asked tax officials to bring three crore out of the six crore companies in the private sector of the country to the realm of goods and services tax (GST).
