1.Petroleum University, Dehradun is teaching women to cultivate medicinal plants :-
University of Petroleum and Natural Gas of Dehradun: UPES: There has been an important initiative to cultivate medicinal trees and marketing their products to women of the surrounding villages and make them self-reliant, and so far 70 trained women have been trained for this is.
Arun Dhand, an official of the Petroleum and Natural Gas University, told that UPES has trained these women along with training in the identification and cultivation of medicinal plants. Under this, special medicinal plants have been selected, whose processing factories are in Dehradun.
Among them are Tulsi, Alo. Veera, Lemon grass and other herbs are prominent.
Different types of help is being provided to the women farmers, as they are provided with the guidance of seeds, organic fertilizers, suitable farming as well as all the necessary equipment and also help them connect with the market so that their business is better Possible.
2.Two Indian-American traders awarded by Trump :-
President Donald Trump has honored two Indian American businessmen for their significant contribution to the US economy.
Trump honored Sharad Thakkar and Karna Arora in his office at the White House.
The President also honored seven other small but important businessmen.
Thakkar is the President of Polymer Technologies, who was awarded ‘Minority Energy Firm of the Year’ award.
There are directors of Natural Vitamin Labs owned by Aurora family of Florida. This firm has been awarded ‘Minority Export Firm of the Year’ award.
3.Indian-origin woman was elected Britain’s most powerful black man this year :-
The woman of Indian origin has been chosen as Britain’s most influential black person this year.

4.Government approval for massive plan to construct 83 thousand 677 km highway :-
In the next 5 years, the government approved a massive plan to construct 83,677 km highway at a cost of approximately Rs 7 lakh crore. To make better road connectivity in border and other areas of the country, Bharatmala is a large project of the Central Government.
Under this, a 5000 km National Corridor will be constructed to increase the economic corridor, 6000 kilometers of inter-corridor and feeder-road capacity to achieve full economic potential.
Apart from this, two-kilometer road connectivity, eight hundred kilometers expressway and remaining 10 thousand kilometers of remaining National Highway projects are included in this.
5.TRAI recommends new rules to call network of mobile companies through app :-
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, TRAI has suggested some rules to call the network of mobile companies through the app.
TRAI has also suggested to make a call on any number through the WiFi network.
The Telecom Department issued these recommendations of TRAI about Internet telephony, which is for legitimate telecom license holder service providers.
The calls made via mobile app like Whatsapp, Wii, and Google Duo are not included in this. These recommendations have resolved the issues that private telecom companies have given to the government telecom company BSNL. The mobile calling was raised with the app.
TRAI’s recommendations state that such an Internet telephony app should be linked to the mobile number chain.
Telecom companies will charge for calls and all the rules related to the normal call will be applicable to them.
6.Veteran classical singer Girija Devi dies :-
Famous classical music singer Padma Vibhushan Girija Devi died in Kolkata. He was 88 years old. To contribute in popularizing Indian sub-classical music, he was called the Thumri Samrajni.
While expressing condolences over his demise, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the voice and music of Girija Devi fascinated many generations.
7.Delegation level talks of Afghanistan President with Prime Minister Modi :-
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today met Afghan President Ashraf Ghani. The two leaders reviewed the multi-faceted aspects of mutual strategic partnership. They also discussed the efforts to tackle the problem of terrorism.
Along with this , there is also a discussion on enhancing cooperation for peace , security , sustainability and prosperity in Afghanistan . Earlier , Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani met President Ramnath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan. In a meeting with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, the two leaders discussed regional and bilateral issues.
This one-day visit of Mr Ghani to India is very important ,Because US Foreign Minister Rakes Tillerson is also reaching India on a three-day visit this evening. The Trump Administration is keenly interested in India’s special role in the peace process in Afghanistan.
8.Political parties welcomed the Center’s decision on Kashmir issue :-
Political parties have welcomed the decision of the Center to appoint a representative of the government for talks on the issue of Kashmir on Dinshawar Sharma, former Director of Intelligence Bureau.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has said that it is time to start a dialogue and only solution can be made from this. Mehbooba expressed her happiness and said that this is a good and important beginning in the atmosphere at this time.
Bharatiya Janata Party national general secretary Ram Madhav said that this is a right decision.
Farooq Abdullah of the National Conference has described this decision as a promising remedy. Congress national spokesman Manish Tewari said that this is an encouraging sign.
9.Stock market crosses 33 thousand :-
The index of the Bombay Stock Exchange crossed the 33,000 mark for the first time. It was at 33 thousand 117 in the morning’s business, but later it declined a bit. Shortly before, it was at 33 thousand two with an increase of 394 points.
The National Stock Exchange’s Nifty also rose 77 points to 10 thousand 284. In the initial business, it reached ten thousand 341.
Since the announcement of the government’s availability of two lakh 11 thousand crore capital, the banking sector shares have gained momentum. Shares of State Bank of India rose by about 20 percent and shares of public sector banks increased 10 to 30 percent.
In the International Monetary Exchange, the value of rupee was reduced by seven paise against dollar and a dollar was raised to 65 rupees 14 paise.
10.Announcement of investment of more than 9 lakh crores of government to accelerate economy :-
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has announced a huge package of nine lakh crores for speeding up the country’s economy.
In this package, the expenditure on infrastructure for the six lakh 92 thousand crore rupees and the capitalization of the banks has been fixed at two lakh 11 thousand crore rupees. With this increasing investment, economic growth will also happen.
In a press conference in New Delhi, Mr. Jaitley said that all the economic indices support the government’s claim that the economy is moving forward. He said that due to the monopolization and effect of GST, there was a temporary slow pace in the last two quarters in economic growth.
Shri Jaitley said that in the second quarter of the current year only good economic growth is expected. He said that the government has increased the amount through micro-schemes such as money loan for micro, small and medium enterprises.
11.Federer beat Tiafo in the first round :-

13.No change in GPF rates, interest rates at 7.8 percent in the December quarter :-
The central government has kept interest rate of General Provident Fund (GPF) and other related schemes for the October-December quarter at 7.8 percent level. The Finance Ministry has announced this on Wednesday in this regard.
In July-September quarter, the interest rate of General Provident Fund (GPF) and other related schemes was at 7.8 percent level.
According to the information given by the ministry, the central government will be given interest at the rate of 7.8 percent for the General Provident Fund and other related schemes for the financial year 2017-18.
These rates will be applicable from one October to 31 December 2017. In this connection, notification has been issued on October 23. These rates will be applicable to central employees, railway and military personnel.
