1.Ministry of Human Resource Development has notified 75 National Resource Centers (NRC) for online refresher programs for higher education faculty through itself :-
The Ministry of Human Resource Development has started a major and unique program of online professional development of 1.5 million high / education faculty using the MOOC platform ‘ Self ‘ . In the first phase, 75 study-subjects special national resource centers have been identified. These centers have been asked to prepare online training material with focus on modalities for implementing latest development , emerging trends , academic improvement and revised curriculum in the subject-specific .
2.National Rail Museum will open in the evenings :-
The National Rail Museum will be open for visitors in the evening. The extended time for the visitors on the last day of the museum week will be open from 06 p.m. to 9 p.m. National Rail Museum is the main attraction for tourists in Delhi NCR. The National Rail Museum, spread over more than 11 acres in the Chanakyapuri Diplomatic Enclave, refreshes the old memories of the railway. It has a collection of more than 75 real exhibitions of the old days of the railway.
3.Powergrid targets capital expenditure of Rs 25,000 crore for the year 2018-19 :-
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (Powergrid) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the year 2018-19 with the Ministry of Power of the Government of India. This MoU was signed by Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Secretary, Ministry of Power, Government of India and Mr. I.S., CMD, Powergrid CMD. Jha signed. This MOU was signed in presence of senior officials of Power Ministry and Power Grid.
4.Meteorological department again warns of storm in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan in next 36 hours :-
The Meteorological Department has issued warnings to the storm in the next 36 hours in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. According to the images obtained from the satellite, the area of low pressure of air is being created in parts of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, due to which there is a possibility of wind blowing and heavy rainfall.
In some places of Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Sikkim and Odisha, there may be strong winds with hail fall.
In Uttar Pradesh, the state government has asked officials to take all precautionary steps. On Wednesday, 74 people were killed and 83 injured in 22 districts. Uttar Pradesh’s highest number of 45 deaths have been reported in Agra and 51 were injured. People’s loss and animal loss have been caused by falling of houses and trees, celestial electricity and tin sheds. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the State Government Ministers to immediately reach the affected districts and maintain the relief and rescue work. The families of the dead will be given four lakh rupees, severely injured two lakhs and two hundred and fifty percent of the injured will be given 60-60 thousand rupees.
5.President gave 65th National Film Awards :-
President Shri Ramnath Kovind gave away 65th National Awards in New Delhi yesterday. Speaking on this occasion, the President said that our films represent and contribute to that diversity, which is India’s greatest strength. In our stories, our films inspire us to remain true to the ideals of our civilization and our shared community. They educate us and also entertain us. They present a reflection of social challenges in front of us, which we still have to face. And they do so in a language that is universal.
6.National Green Tribunal seeks answers from Delhi and five other states on the report of World Health Organization of the most polluted cities :-
The National Green Tribunal has sought answers from the World Health Organization’s recent report about the world’s twenty most polluted cities from Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan and Bihar. The explanation is given till 21 May.
Of the fifteen most polluted cities in the World Health Organization report about air pollution, fourteen are from India. In this case Kanpur is the worst case scenario.
7.NASA’s nuclear reactor will provide energy to Mars’s human mission :-
NASA has successfully demonstrated a new nuclear reactor energy system which can provide energy to the mission of long-term crew members to the Moon, Mars and beyond destinations.
NASA said that the ‘Kilpower Reactor Using Styling Technology’ was tested at the Nevada national security site of the US National Atomic Security Administration from November 2017 to March.
NASA’s Assistant Assistant Administrator, Jim Reuter, in the Directorate of Space Technology Mission in Washington, said that safe, competent energy will play a key role in future robotic and human exploration.
Reuters said that I hope that the Kilpower project will prove to be an important part of the Moon and Mars missions.
8.Government will give subsidy to sugarcane farmers :-
There is a good news for sugar cane farmers. The government has decided to give subsidy of Rs.5.50 per quintal under the production linked subsidy to the farmers. This decision was taken in the Cabinet meeting held in Delhi.
After this decision, the Agriculture Ministry will directly subsidize the 5.5 paise per quintal in the farmers’ accounts. This will also provide relief to sugar mills. The sugarcane growers have reached close to Rs 19,000 crore on outstanding sugar mills. This is by far the highest. Sugarcane farmers were facing huge financial problems due to non-payment of timely payment from the millers.
9.Mumbai Indians beat hopes of playoff, Punjab beat by 6 wickets :-
The 34th match of IPL 2018 was played at Holkar Stadium in Indore. Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians were face-to-face in this match. Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first and invited Punjab to bat. While batting first, the Punjab team lost 17 wickets in 6 overs in 20 overs. Mumbai had the goal of making 175 runs to win, which the team achieved by losing 4 wickets in 19 overs and won the match by 6 wickets.
10.The big news for the farmers: Before the farming, now the cash will come into the account :-
The May 5 date for farmers of Bihar is going to be historically proven. In order to reach at least one Bihari dishes in every Indian plate, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will start dawn on Saturday for the advancement of organic farming for the cultivation of organic vegetables.
Under the scheme of one click of the chief minister, all 20 thousand selected farmers will be left in the account of 6-6 thousand rupees immediately. The message will also come immediately on mobile. With this amount, they will be able to buy organic manure, seeds and other things needed for farming. This type of experiment is going to happen in Bihar for the first time that grant money will be paid before the farming.
11.GST Council: Single Monthly Returns for Everyone, Sugar will not look at cess and government company will become GSTN :-
Several important decisions were taken today in the 27th meeting of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council. In this meeting, there was an opinion on GSTN as well as a single monthly return form for all, while making a consensus about forming a government company fully. Also in this meeting, it has also been decided that no cess will be levied on sugar.
GSTN: GSTN: At the GST Council 27th meeting, there has been a consensus on GSTN to become a fully government company. The Council said in this meeting that GSTN will be made a government-owned company. Describing this decision in detail, Union Finance Minister and GST Council President Arun Jaitley said that the private companies who have a 51 per cent stake in GSTN will withdraw the government. After this, the Center and the State Government will have an equal share of 50-50% in GSTN. State governments will have a stake on pro-rate basis, which will be in their GST ratio.
12.Sebi’s seal will increase from 9 am to 11:55 pm on the futures trading season :-
Capital market regulator SEBI today has given permission to increase trading time limit in the stock market futures trading (equity derivatives) segment. Now the new time limit will be from 9 am to 11 pm and 55 minutes. The new rule will come into effect from October 1. This move is part of SEBI’s efforts to enable the integration of stocks and commodities trading on the same exchange.
The circular issued by SEBI said, “It has been decided to allow stock exchanges to set their trading hours in the equity derivatives segment, this deadline ranges from 9 am to 11 pm for 55 minutes It will be on the lines of trading hours of commodity derivatives, in which the trading deadline is fixed from 10 am to 11 pm for 55 minutes. This permission is subject to stock exchanges and clearing corporations, which are in the infrastructure related to the risk management system and the infrastructure.
